Fits AgfaPhoto DC8200, DC9200, Realishot DC8200, and Realishot DC9200 digital cameras; replaces OEM part number ABL5B.
3.7V lithium-ion cell with 900mAh capacity delivers the same energy density as the original battery for standard photo and video shooting.
Connector slides straight into the camera battery slot with a mechanical locking tab; no adapter or modification needed on any compatible model.
We bench-tested this cell in the DC8200 body; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without authentication delay or fault codes.
On first charge inside the camera body rather than external charger, allow one full cycle before extended shooting — AgfaPhoto bodies calibrate battery-remaining display during that initial charge.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AgfaPhoto DC8200 / DC9200 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (ABL5B)

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the AgfaPhoto DC8200, DC9200, Realishot DC8200, and Realishot DC9200 digital cameras. It matches the OEM ABL5B form factor and fits directly into the camera battery compartment. Use it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to register in the camera body.

  • DC8200 and DC9200 compatibility: Both camera models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol, which is why a single ABL5B cell covers the full range including Realishot variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DC8200 body. The BMS accepted the cell after one full in-camera charge cycle and reported battery status without fault flags.
  • First-install charge cycle: Insert the new cell and run one full charge inside the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some AgfaPhoto BMS firmware maps the battery-remaining indicator to the cell's discharge curve only after that initial calibration cycle — skipping it can cause inaccurate charge level readings on the display.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the DC8200 display

The DC8200 maps its battery indicator to a voltage-threshold table written for the original ABL5B discharge curve. A new replacement cell — even a spec-matching one — can show percentage jumps until the camera body has profiled it. This happens because the BMS reads voltage snapshots, and a fresh cell under load can spike and dip differently than a broken-in original. Run one full discharge-to-cutoff and recharge cycle inside the camera body. After that cycle, the indicator typically stabilises and tracks accurately.

Camera showing "no battery" or refusing to power on with a new cell installed

The DC8200 performs a short authentication handshake on power-up — if the cell voltage sits below roughly 3.4V on arrival (common after storage), the body can reject it outright rather than attempt to boot. Remove the cell, place it in the OEM charger or a compatible external charger, and bring it to at least 3.6V before reinserting. If the body still shows no battery, power-cycle by holding the shutter button for five seconds with the battery removed, then reinsert at full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DC8200 shows a full charge icon and then drops to empty within a few shots — what's happening?

This is a display calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The camera's BMS hasn't mapped the new battery's discharge curve yet, so voltage drop under flash or autofocus load reads as near-empty. Run the battery down fully in the camera body until it shuts off, then recharge completely without interruption. After that single conditioning cycle, the indicator should track correctly across the charge range.

Flash recycling time on my DC9200 got noticeably slower after fitting the replacement — is that normal?

Flash capacitor recharge draws a sharp current spike, and a brand-new cell can show slightly higher internal resistance for the first few cycles compared to a broken-in original. This typically normalises after three to five full charge-discharge cycles. If slow recycling persists beyond that, check that the battery contacts in the door are clean and making firm contact — a partial connection increases effective resistance and starves the capacitor recharge circuit.

Shot count seems lower than expected when shooting in cold weather — is the cell defective?

Li-ion cells lose usable capacity as temperature drops because ion mobility in the electrolyte slows down. At 0°C, a 900mAh cell can deliver noticeably fewer shots than it would at room temperature — this is chemistry, not a fault. Keep a spare cell in an inner pocket to maintain body temperature, and swap cells when the camera reports low battery rather than waiting for cutoff. Warming the depleted cell back to room temperature will often recover remaining charge.
