Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Point Mobile PM60 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (60-BTSC)
This is a 3.7V, 3500mAh Li-ion battery for the Point Mobile PM60 handheld mobile computer. It fits the PM60 barcode scanner used in warehouse pick-and-pack, retail checkout, and logistics data collection. OEM part number 60-BTSC.
- PM60 compatibility: The PM60 uses a single-cell Li-ion pack with a BMS that monitors cell voltage and reports status back to the device OS. This replacement matches the original voltage rail and connector, so the device registers the new pack without a firmware flag or capacity error.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through charge and discharge cycles on the PM60 platform. The BMS handled scan-trigger inrush without tripping, and the charging cradle accepted the pack without throwing a contact or authentication error.
- First-shift prep on the PM60: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first pick-and-pack shift. The scan trigger draws the highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum voltage — starting the shift at full charge prevents a false BMS cutoff on the first heavy scan burst.
Why the PM60 drops its wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The PM60 runs the barcode imager and the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio simultaneously. During a fast scan burst, both draw current at the same time — the combined inrush can pull the cell voltage below the BMS protection threshold for a fraction of a second. When that happens, the radio stack resets before the scanner OS can recover the session. A freshly charged cell with low internal resistance handles the combined draw without that voltage sag, so the connection holds through the burst.
Cradle showing a charging error after fitting the new pack
This usually comes from contact resistance at the battery terminals, not a fault with the pack itself. Dust, oxidation, or a misaligned seating on the cradle pins raises resistance enough that the dock's charge controller flags the pack as unresponsive. Wipe the gold contact pads on the battery and the cradle pins with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. If the error clears, the pack is charging correctly — confirm by checking the charge indicator shows a steady charge state within 30 seconds of seating.

Frequently Asked Questions
The PM60 imager fires but won't read barcodes right after I put the new battery in — is something wrong with the scanner?
Nothing is wrong with the scanner. The imager needs a minimum cell voltage to fire at full illumination, and a new pack shipped at storage charge (around 3.5V) may be just below that threshold. Place the PM60 in the cradle and charge it to full before scanning. Once the cell reaches 3.7V and above, the imager fires at rated power and reads normally.
My PM60 runs through this new battery faster than the old one did when it was new — what's draining it?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval are the two biggest variables. If the device is set to poll the Wi-Fi network at a short interval while also scanning at high volume, the combined draw is significantly higher than either task alone. Check the wireless polling settings in the PM60 device manager and reduce the scan trigger sensitivity if it's firing partial reads. A genuine 3500mAh cell at full charge should deliver a full shift under normal warehouse scan loads — if it doesn't, confirm the cradle completed a full charge cycle before the shift started.
The PM60 gets noticeably warm on the back after a long shift — is that a battery problem?
Warmth on the back panel during a sustained shift is normal for the PM60 form factor. The battery, processor, and radio all sit in an enclosed housing with limited airflow, so heat accumulates. What to watch for is heat that persists after the shift ends or a pack that is hot to the touch, not just warm — that points to a cell under excessive load or a BMS not throttling correctly. If the housing stays warm more than 10 minutes after the scanner is idle and back in the cradle, check that the cradle fan vents are clear and that the device isn't running background sync tasks.
