Fits Airis T610, T620, T920A, T920 GPS navigators; replaces OEM battery BL-L1230.
3.7V, 1250mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 4.63Wh — standard capacity for handheld GPS operation.
Connector slides straight into the T610 battery slot with single-point contact and locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell on GPS acquisition cycles; BMS settled within 30 seconds on first power.
After fitting, power the navigator fully on outdoors and let it acquire satellite lock before navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for initial fix versus under a minute afterward.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Airis T610 / T620 / T920 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-L1230)

The BL-L1230 is a 3.7V, 1250mAh Li-ion cell that powers Airis portable GPS navigators including the T610, T620, T920, and T920A. It replaces the original pack when the unit fails to hold a charge or shuts off unexpectedly during navigation. Voltage and capacity match the original Airis spec exactly.

  • T610 / T620 / T920 series fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V supply rail, and BL-L1230 connector footprint. One cell covers all four units without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full-load discharge with the GPS receiver and display both active. The BMS held stable voltage delivery and tripped cutoff cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without unexpected drops mid-session.
  • First fix after battery swap: After fitting this cell, power the T610 on outdoors and let it run a cold-start satellite acquisition before driving. A cold start can take 5–10 minutes for first lock — subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once the almanac is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the T610

When cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V, some Airis GPS units scale back receiver sensitivity to protect remaining charge. The unit stays on and shows a map, but satellite count drops and position drift increases. Users often blame firmware or signal, but the cause is battery voltage. Fitting a fully charged BL-L1230 restores full receiver sensitivity immediately.

T610 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator hits empty

The on-screen fuel gauge on these navigators is calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. A degraded or replacement cell with a slightly different curve will hit the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the indicator shows one bar. The unit powers off abruptly with no warning. Run two full charge-discharge cycles after fitting the BL-L1230 — the gauge recalibrates against the new cell's curve and low-battery warnings return to normal timing.

Frequently Asked Questions

My T610 lost all my saved routes after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it is a known behaviour on this GPS platform. Saved routes and some user settings are held in battery-backed RAM, and a full power removal clears that memory. Re-enter your routes after the swap, then export them to the device's internal storage or an SD card going forward so they survive future battery changes.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes after fitting the new BL-L1230 — was the battery bad?

The battery is fine. Removing power forces a cold start, which means the T610 has to download a fresh GPS almanac from scratch rather than using cached satellite position data. That process takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view. Once the almanac is cached, subsequent starts lock in under a minute — power cycle the unit outdoors once and the delay will not repeat.

Active navigation drains this battery much faster than just leaving the T610 on standby — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver at full sensitivity and keeps the display lit continuously — both are high-drain states. Standby drops the receiver to a low-power polling mode and dims or blanks the screen. Reducing display brightness in the T610 settings is the single most effective way to extend charge between navigations, as the backlight is the largest current draw outside the receiver itself.
