Fits ALBA SL1031, SL1231, and SL1430 digital cameras as a direct replacement for OEM battery pack.
3.7V 660mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 2.44Wh — sufficient for standard shot sequences without midday recharge cycles.
Connector slides straight into camera battery compartment with no modification; locking tab seats flush against chamber wall.
We bench-tested this cell in SL1031 body; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without fault codes or display errors.
On initial charge, run one full cycle through the camera body itself rather than external charger — ALBA bodies map discharge curves during the first in-camera top-up, which prevents percentage-display drift during shooting.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ALBA SL1031 / SL1231 / SL1430 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 660mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the ALBA SL1031, SL1231, and SL1430 compact digital cameras. It restores power to cameras where the original cell no longer holds a charge or has failed entirely. Voltage and capacity match the original spec to keep the camera's exposure, flash, and image-write functions within normal operating parameters.

  • SL1031, SL1231, SL1430 compatibility: These three ALBA models share the same battery bay dimensions, contact layout, and 3.7V power rail. The same 40.00 × 31.10 × 5.90mm cell footprint fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles monitoring BMS communication, flash capacitor recharge current, and cutoff behaviour at low state of charge. The cell accepted charge via both OEM charger and in-body charging without tripping protection circuits.
  • First-install charge cycle: Insert the cell into the camera body and run a full charge cycle through the camera before shooting. Some compact camera BMS systems only calibrate the battery-remaining indicator after one complete in-body charge cycle — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately from the first use.

Battery percentage jumping or reading 100% then dropping suddenly on the ALBA SL1031

The SL1031's fuel gauge maps voltage thresholds from the original cell's discharge curve. A new replacement cell has a slightly different discharge curve at the mid-range, which causes the indicator to jump between values rather than step down smoothly. This is a calibration issue, not a cell fault. Run two full charge and discharge cycles through the camera body and the indicator will remap to the new cell's curve, giving stable percentage readings.

Camera body warming up and draining the new cell faster than expected during video recording

During video recording, the SL1031 draws simultaneously from the image sensor, the image processor, and the write buffer — all at once, sustained. This combined draw is significantly higher than the load during still photography. At 660mAh the cell is rated at 2.44Wh, which is the same as the original spec, so the behaviour is normal for extended video use rather than a fault with the replacement cell. If the camera shuts down during video, check that the cell is reading above 3.5V before the session starts — anything below that threshold puts the camera at risk of mid-recording cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ALBA SL1031 is showing a "no battery" or "incompatible battery" warning with the new cell installed — is the cell faulty?

The SL1031's BMS runs an authentication check on first contact with a new cell and sometimes rejects it before a charge handshake has occurred. Remove the cell, reinsert it, then place the camera on charge via the OEM charger for a full cycle without interrupting it. After one complete charge cycle the camera's BMS will accept the cell and the warning will clear.

The shot count on my ALBA SL1031 is lower than I expected from a new battery — what's drawing it down faster?

Flash recharge, continuous autofocus, and the LCD display each add current draw on top of the base sensor and processor load. Shot count specs are typically measured under controlled conditions with flash off and minimal display use. Shooting with flash enabled on every frame is the single largest draw — disabling it in good light will extend the number of shots per charge noticeably.

The flash on my ALBA SL1031 isn't fully recycling between shots — there's a delay and some shots are underexposed.

Flash capacitor recharge pulls a sharp current spike from the cell. When the cell voltage sags under repeated recharge loads — typically more noticeable toward the end of a charge cycle — the capacitor takes longer to reach full charge voltage, resulting in a dimmer flash output. This is a load-response characteristic of small-capacity Li-ion cells at lower state of charge. Keep the cell above 50% state of charge during flash-heavy shooting to keep recharge current and flash output consistent.
