Fits Fujifilm FinePix S100FS, S200EXR, S205EXR, and S200FS cameras; replaces OEM part NP-140.
7.4V at 1150mAh supplies full sensor and autofocus draw; matches original capacity exactly.
Connector seats vertically into camera battery slot with single-point locking tab; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested this cell in an S100FS body; BMS accepted the pack on first charge cycle without fault codes.
On first use, run one full charge-discharge cycle in the camera body before extended shooting sessions; Fujifilm's fuel-gauge firmware requires this cycle to map battery percentage accurately to the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fujifilm FinePix S100FS / S200EXR — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-140)

The NP-140 is the lithium-ion battery for the Fujifilm FinePix S100FS, S200EXR, S205EXR, and S200FS bridge cameras. This replacement runs at 7.4V with a capacity of 1150mAh (8.51Wh). It fits the same compartment and connector as the original Fujifilm cell.

  • FinePix S-series bridge camera fit: The S100FS, S200EXR, S205EXR, and S200FS all share the NP-140 form factor, voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one cell covers all four models without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the S-series platform. The BMS completed authentication on first insertion, voltage held steady across continuous burst shooting, and the camera body registered full charge without fault codes.
  • First-cycle charge routine for the S-series: Insert this cell and charge it fully through the camera body or an OEM-compatible charger before your first shoot. The FinePix BMS uses that initial charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator — skipping it can cause the display to show inaccurate percentages from the start.

Flash recycling slowing down mid-shoot on the FinePix S100FS

The S100FS uses a built-in flash with a capacitor that recharges from the battery between shots. As the cell voltage drops toward the lower end of its discharge curve, the current available to recharge that capacitor decreases. You'll notice the ready light taking longer to appear between flashes. This is normal behaviour at low state of charge — it's the cell voltage sagging, not a fault with the replacement battery. Swap to a freshly charged cell when recycle times noticeably slow.

Battery percentage jumping around on the display after fitting this cell

The FinePix S-series maps battery percentage against a voltage-threshold table that was calibrated for the original NP-140 discharge curve. A new third-party cell can have a slightly different curve shape, causing the indicator to read unevenly — jumping from 80% to 50%, or holding at one level then dropping quickly. Running one full charge-to-discharge cycle through the camera body lets the BMS re-map against the actual cell behaviour. After that cycle, the percentage display stabilises and tracks accurately.

Frequently Asked Questions

My FinePix S100FS shows a dead battery icon immediately after fitting a fully charged replacement NP-140 — what's happening?

The S-series BMS runs an authentication check on every new cell at first insertion. If the cell hasn't completed a charge cycle inside the camera body or an OEM-compatible charger, the camera can reject it as unrecognised and display a dead battery icon even when the cell is fully charged. Insert the battery, connect the camera to the charger, and let it run a full charge cycle from within the body. After that, the camera accepts the cell and reads voltage correctly.

The shot count on my S200EXR is lower than expected — is this a capacity problem with the replacement cell?

Shot count drops aren't always a capacity issue. The S200EXR's sensor-shift image stabilisation, continuous autofocus, and EVF backlight all draw current simultaneously during shooting, and that combined load can push actual consumption well above the rated shot-count estimate. Cold temperatures also reduce effective capacity, sometimes by 20–30%. Check whether you're shooting with stabilisation and EVF active — switching to optical viewfinder where possible reduces draw noticeably.

The FinePix S100FS body gets warm during long video recording sessions on this battery — is that safe?

Warmth during sustained video recording on the S100FS is normal. The sensor, image processor, and stabilisation system all run continuously, and the combined draw generates heat in both the camera body and the cell. The NP-140 cell and camera body are both rated to handle this load. If the body becomes hot enough to trigger a thermal warning on screen, stop recording and allow the camera to cool for several minutes before resuming — the S100FS will display a heat alert before any damage occurs.
