Fits Albrecht Bambini, Reer 50133, and Tectalk Float handhelds; replaces OEM part TBP-1004B.
3.7V Li-Polymer cell with 1000mAh capacity delivers steady voltage during transmit bursts and receive cycles.
Battery slides into the radio slot with a spring-clip locking tab; connector is proprietary two-pin inline.
We ran full charge and PTT cycles on a Bambini unit; BMS accepted handshake without fault and held voltage under sustained RF.
On first insertion into the charger dock, if a fault LED appears, remove the battery and wipe the contact strip clean with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly — the radio platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Albrecht Bambini — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TBP-1004B)

This is a 3.7V, 1000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Albrecht Bambini, Reer 50133 Care and Talk, and Tectalk Float handheld two-way radios. It replaces OEM part number TBP-1004B. The slim 52 × 34.70 × 5.20mm profile fits the original battery compartment without modification.

  • Bambini, Reer 50133, and Tectalk Float compatibility: These three handsets share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-Polymer architecture, identical connector pinout, and matching BMS voltage thresholds — so one pack covers all three platforms without any wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through transmit-load pulls and monitored BMS cutoff behaviour under PTT spike current. The protection circuit responded correctly at both over-current and low-voltage thresholds with no spurious lockouts.
  • First insertion on the Bambini dock: If the charging indicator does not respond on first insertion, remove the pack, wipe the contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before charge current flows.

Why the Bambini cuts out mid-transmission on a new TBP-1004B

A new Li-Polymer cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V — not at full charge. When the PTT button is pressed, transmit current spikes sharply. If cell voltage is already at the low end of the storage range, that spike can push the BMS below its undervoltage cutoff, dropping the radio mid-transmission. This is not a faulty pack. Charge the battery fully before the first transmit session — the BMS cutoff threshold on this platform sits around 3.0V per cell.

Bar indicator showing fewer bars than expected after fitting the TBP-1004B

The Bambini reads battery level through simple voltage-threshold steps, not a fuel gauge chip. A new pack at storage voltage will display one or two bars even though the cell is not depleted. This is a voltage-threshold mismatch, not a capacity problem. Charge the battery until the dock indicator shows full, then power on the radio — the bar display will reflect actual charge state from that point forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Bambini goes silent exactly when I press PTT — is the new TBP-1004B pack faulty?

Almost certainly not. A PTT press draws a sharp current spike, and if the new pack is still at storage voltage, that spike pulls cell voltage below the BMS cutoff — dropping the radio instantly. Fully charge the pack before your first transmit session. Once the cell is at rated voltage, the BMS handles PTT spikes without cutting out.

My charger dock never stops blinking after I fit the replacement battery — what's blocking it?

The dock checks for a minimum pack voltage before it accepts charge current. A battery that has been in storage a long time can sit below that acceptance threshold, causing the dock to blink indefinitely rather than begin charging. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip clean with a dry cloth, reseat it firmly, and wait two minutes. If the dock still refuses to charge, the cell may need a recovery charge — connect the radio directly to USB power rather than the dock to allow a trickle recovery cycle.

The radio drops to noticeably weaker TX output after a few calls — battery or radio problem?

This is voltage sag under sustained RF load. As the cell discharges toward the lower end of its usable range, the voltage supplied to the transmit circuit drops, and the radio reduces output power to stay within its operating window. It is a normal response to cell depletion, not a fault with the pack or the radio. Recharge when you notice the drop — sustained low-voltage TX puts unnecessary stress on the RF stage over time.
