Fits Alinco DJ-CRX6, DJ-CRX7HE, and DJ-CRX7 handhelds; replaces OEM EBP-107 battery pack.
7.4V, 1800mAh lithium-ion delivers full transmit power across the VHF/UHF band without sag.
Connector slides straight into the radio base with a spring latch; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested with sustained PTT cycles — BMS accepted the handshake on first dock insertion.
If the Alinco charger dock shows a fault light after inserting this cell, reseat the battery firmly after wiping the gold contacts with a dry cloth.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alinco DJ-CRX6 / DJ-CRX7 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EBP-107)

This is a 7.4V, 1800mAh Li-ion replacement for the Alinco EBP-107 battery pack. It fits the DJ-CRX6, DJ-CRX7, and DJ-CRX7HE handheld transceivers — compact VHF/UHF radios used in emergency response, outdoor, and professional field operations. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.

  • DJ-CRX6, DJ-CRX7, DJ-CRX7HE compatibility: All three models share the same 7.4V nominal rail, physical housing dimensions, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake protocol across this series is identical, so one cell pack covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge cycles on the DJ-CRX7 dock and monitored BMS response during PTT transmit bursts. The protection circuit held stable across repeated high-draw spikes without tripping into overcurrent lockout.
  • First insertion on the dock: If the charger shows a fault indicator on first seating, remove the pack and wipe the contact strip with a dry cloth before reseating. The EBP-107 platform requires a clean contact cycle for the dock to accept the BMS handshake and begin charging.

Why the DJ-CRX6 cuts out mid-transmission on a new EBP-107

During PTT, the DJ-CRX6 draws a sharp current spike to drive the RF output stage — often 2–3× the standby draw. A new pack shipped at storage voltage (typically 3.7–3.8V per cell) has not yet been fully conditioned, so its internal impedance is temporarily higher than a cycled cell. That elevated impedance causes a brief voltage sag that the BMS reads as an overcurrent event and responds by cutting output. One full charge-discharge cycle through the dock normalises cell impedance and eliminates the cutout.

Bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected after inserting the EBP-107

The DJ-CRX series uses a simple voltage-threshold bar display — each bar corresponds to a specific resting voltage band. A new pack at storage voltage sits below the threshold for a full-bar reading, even though the cell capacity is intact. This is not a fault with the pack. Place the battery in the dock for a complete charge cycle, and the indicator will reflect the correct level once resting voltage reaches approximately 8.3–8.4V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DJ-CRX6 drops to low TX power partway through a long shift — is the new EBP-107 faulty?

This is voltage sag under sustained RF output, not a faulty cell. When the radio holds transmit for extended periods, current draw stays elevated and the pack voltage dips below the radio's threshold for full RF power, triggering a step-down. It is not a BMS trip — the radio is protecting its output stage. Confirm the pack is fully charged before the shift; resting voltage should read 8.3–8.4V off the dock.

The EBP-107 sits in the dock correctly but the charge indicator never advances to full — what's wrong?

A new pack shipped at storage voltage can sit below the dock's acceptance threshold, causing the charger to cycle without committing to a full charge stage. Remove the pack, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly so the gold contacts make clean connection. If the dock still does not advance, check that the contact strip on the battery is free of oxidation — wipe with a dry cloth and reseat once more.

The DJ-CRX7HE won't power on after the EBP-107 sat unused in a drawer for several months — is the battery dead?

Extended storage at low state of charge can push cell voltage below the BMS recovery threshold, locking the pack out from normal operation. This is not permanent cell failure in most cases. Place the pack in the Alinco dock and leave it for a full 24-hour charge cycle — the dock trickle-charges below the BMS floor to recover the cell. If resting voltage after that cycle reads below 7.0V, the cells have not recovered and the pack should be replaced.
