Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel 3 / OT5052D Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp029D1)
This is a 3.8V, 2800mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Alcatel 3, OT5052D, One Touch 3 Dual Sim, and compatible models listed below. It fits where the original TLp029D1 sits, matching the connector, dimensions (70.60 × 57.50 × 4.00mm), and BMS communication protocol. Capacity figure is from the cell spec sheet — 10.64Wh at rated voltage.
- Multi-model fitment on the Alcatel 3 platform: The OT5052D, One Touch 3 Dual Sim, and related variants share the same battery bay geometry and 3.8V power rail. The TLp029D1 part number is common across all of them — same connector housing, same BMS handshake signal expected by the charge IC.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an Alcatel 3 unit. The BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases cleanly. No thermal events or premature cutoff during initial cycles.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing false percentage readings from the first charge onwards.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Alcatel 3 after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under peak modem load or screen-on draw, the new cell's resting voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC predicts — because the gauge is still mapped to the old cell's discharge curve. The phone interprets the voltage sag as a hard low-voltage event and shuts down before the displayed percentage hits zero. One full discharge-to-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and maps the new cell's curve correctly.
USB fast charge not activating on first cycle after replacement
After fitting a new cell, the charge IC may default to standard 5V/1A input and refuse to negotiate the faster charge profile. This happens because the BMS on the new cell starts in a conservative state until it logs a complete charge cycle and confirms thermal and voltage behaviour is within spec. Plug in via a standard charger for the first full cycle — do not use a fast charger for that initial run. After one complete cycle, the charge IC will accept the higher-current profile on subsequent charges.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Alcatel 3 powers off by itself at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's voltage drop under load and triggers an early shutdown. Run one full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter remaps to the new cell and the shutdowns stop.
The phone feels warm near the battery area during the first few charges — should I stop charging?
Mild warmth on the first two or three charges is normal with a new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell. The charge IC runs in constant-current phase longer than it will with a conditioned cell, which generates more heat until internal resistance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or shows a temperature warning, stop and let it cool before continuing. After the first few cycles, charge temperature drops to the same level you saw with the original battery.
The battery percentage jumps erratically — showing 60%, then 45%, then 55% within minutes — after the swap.
Erratic percentage readings mean the fuel gauge IC has not yet mapped the new cell's discharge curve. The Alcatel 3 uses a coulomb counter that learned the original cell's behaviour over months of use — a new cell resets that learned data. Run the phone from 100% down to auto-shutdown twice in a row, charging fully between each cycle without interruption. By the second completed cycle, the gauge stabilises and percentage tracking becomes consistent.
