Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel 3X / 5X Series — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLp043D7)
This is a 3.85V, 4300mAh (16.56Wh) lithium-polymer cell replacing part number TLp043D7. It fits the Alcatel 3X, 5X, OT-5061A, and OT-5061K. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or causes unexpected shutdowns.
- 3X and 5X series compatibility: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. All listed variants use the same 3.85V voltage rail, so one cell covers the full group without hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and load sequences on the OT-5061A. The BMS negotiated charge correctly, thermal output stayed within spec, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — it stops the OS reporting wrong percentages early.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a replacement cell
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running a discharge model calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The new cell's actual voltage drops faster under modem and display load than the IC expects at that state-of-charge. When terminal voltage dips below the shutdown threshold — typically around 3.4V under load — the phone cuts out even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. One full uninterrupted discharge-to-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and resolves this. After that cycle, shutdowns at partial charge should stop.
Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Lithium-polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the replacement shipped or sat unused below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage and the phone will not respond to the power button. Connect a known-good charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell until voltage rises above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the charging indicator appears, continue a full charge before attempting to boot. If no indicator appears after 30 minutes, check the cable and charge brick before assuming the cell is faulty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my Alcatel 3X showing battery percentage jumping around after I put in the new cell?
The fuel gauge IC uses a coulomb counter calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve — the new TLp043D7 cell has a different curve, so the counter miscalculates state-of-charge until it learns the new cell. Run one full uninterrupted discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption, with fast charging disabled. That single cycle lets the IC remap its internal model against the new cell. Erratic percentage readings typically stop after that first calibration cycle.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after swapping the battery — is the cell faulty?
It is not faulty. On the first charge cycle, the charge IC negotiates with the new cell's BMS before accepting a high-current fast-charge handshake — some units complete that negotiation only after the first full slow charge finishes. Plug in with fast charging disabled, let the phone charge to 100% at standard rate, then unplug and re-enable fast charging. On the next charge session the protocol handshake should complete normally and fast charging will engage.
My Alcatel OT-5061A gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacement — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during the initial charge cycles than a well-used one because the charge IC is pushing current into a cell with slightly higher internal resistance until the chemistry fully activates. This typically levels off after two or three full cycles as impedance drops. Keep the phone out of a case during those first charges so heat can dissipate freely. If the back feels hot enough to be uncomfortable — above roughly 45°C — stop the charge, let it cool, and restart; sustained heat at that level suggests a charge IC or connector issue, not the cell itself.
