This shows up as the phone sitting at 100% for an unusually long time, then dropping fast toward the end. One full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge forces the coulomb counter to write a new reference curve. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem or display draws a current spike the cell cannot sustain without the voltage collapsing below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the displayed percentage suggests charge remains. A freshly installed cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC is most vulnerable to this on the first few cycles. The BMS reads a real voltage collapse, not a gauge error, and cuts output to protect the cell. Run one full discharge-to-shutdown and full recharge cycle — the gauge IC recalibrates and the cutoff trips accurately from that point.

Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V in storage and the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. A wall charger delivers enough current to push the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V, at which point the phone will respond normally and begin charging.
Fast charging stopped working on the F200 after I fitted this battery — the phone charges, but slowly
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard current because the USB-PD or proprietary handshake hasn't been confirmed against the new BMS. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Complete one full charge at the slow rate, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — the handshake re-initiates and fast charge resumes from the second cycle onward.
The F200 feels warm near the battery during the first few charges after the swap — is something wrong?
A new cell has higher internal impedance than a worn one, so the charge IC pushes slightly more voltage across that resistance during early cycles, generating mild heat. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles and settles as the cell conditions. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the back panel is uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that no debris is caught between the replacement cell and the back cover, which can trap heat against the charge IC.
