Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel 5005R / Insight — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi021G1)
This is a 3.8V, 2000mAh (7.6Wh) Li-ion cell for the Alcatel 5005R and Insight smartphone. It replaces OEM part TLi021G1 and fits the same connector and footprint as the factory cell. Swap it in when the original no longer holds a working charge through a normal day.
- 5005R and Insight compatibility: Both the 5005R and Insight share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — that is why one cell covers both model names. The TLi021G1 part number is the key identifier, not the model name on the box.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a 5005R unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge termination completed at the correct cutoff voltage, and the fuel gauge IC registered a full 100% state of charge at end of cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TLi021G1 replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue. A degraded or new uncalibrated cell can drop below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.2V under load — while the fuel gauge still reads 20–30% remaining. The phone shuts off not because it is empty, but because the cell voltage collapsed under the current draw of the modem or screen. One full calibration cycle usually closes the gap between the fuel gauge reading and actual cell voltage under load.
Phone reads incorrect battery percentage after cell swap
The fuel gauge IC on the 5005R uses a stored discharge curve to estimate state of charge — that curve was built around the original cell's impedance profile. A new cell has a different impedance, so the IC reads high or low until it recalibrates. Charge to 100%, let the phone discharge naturally to below 5% without interruption, then charge back to 100% uninterrupted. After that single full cycle, percentage reporting typically stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Alcatel 5005R won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Not necessarily. A Li-ion cell stored at low charge can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage — the phone will not power on and will not respond to a charger normally. Connect it to a slow 5V charger and leave it for 30–45 minutes without pressing the power button; the BMS needs a trickle current to recover before it will accept a normal charge. If the charge LED lights up within that window, the cell is recovering. If there is no response after an hour on a known-working charger, check that the battery connector is fully seated.
Fast charging stopped working on my 5005R right after I installed the new TLi021G1 — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes defaults to a lower current rate because it has not yet confirmed the new cell's impedance is within the expected range for high-current charging. This is normal and usually clears after one complete charge cycle to 100%. If slow charging persists beyond the second full cycle, check that you are using the original cable and adapter — USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge protocols can drop back to standard 5V if the cable introduces resistance above the threshold the charge IC accepts.
The battery percentage on my 5005R jumps around erratically — it will show 45%, then skip to 60%, then drop to 30% within minutes.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell after a swap — the coulomb counter is re-mapping its charge curve and producing unstable readings until it completes at least one uninterrupted full cycle. Charge the phone to 100% on a standard charger without removing the cable early, then let it discharge to under 5% in normal use without plugging in mid-cycle. After that single complete cycle, the IC locks in a new baseline and the jumping typically stops.
