Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-918 Mix — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB32A0001C1)
This 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion cell replaces part number CAB32A0001C1 in the Alcatel OT-918 Mix and One Touch 918 Mix smartphones, as well as the EE40 and EE40VB variants. It matches the original cell's dimensions at 51.61 x 50.72 x 5.24mm and drops into the same battery bay without modification. Voltage and capacity match factory spec exactly.
- OT-918 Mix and EE40 platform compatibility: The OT-918 Mix and EE40 variants share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — all four models accept the CAB32A0001C1 cell without any hardware changes.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on an OT-918 Mix unit. The BMS accepted the cell on first insertion, thermal behaviour stayed within normal range throughout charging, and the fuel gauge IC initialised without errors.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing a new cell, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean discharge curve from the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a freshly installed cell
A new cell carries a different internal resistance profile than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. When the modem or display draws a high current burst, the cell voltage can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the reported percentage still shows charge remaining. The phone shuts off because the BMS sees a real undervoltage event at the terminals — not because the cell is defective. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate recalibrates the coulomb counter and eliminates the false cutoff; target a resting voltage of 4.18–4.20V at the top of that first charge before resuming normal use.
Device won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the OT-918 Mix BMS locks out completely when cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V. In lockout, the phone shows no charge indicator and will not boot — it looks dead even when connected to a charger. Connect the phone to a known-good wall adapter and leave it without interruption for 20–30 minutes; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell up through the lockout threshold before the BMS re-engages. Once the battery icon appears on screen, normal charging resumes automatically.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Alcatel OT-918 Mix show the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new cell?
The fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve built from the old, degraded cell — the new cell has lower internal resistance and a different voltage-to-capacity relationship, so the reported percentage drifts immediately. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault with the replacement. Run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates against the new cell and percentage accuracy returns.
The OT-918 Mix feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell generates slightly more heat than a broken-in one because the charge IC is pushing current into a cell it hasn't yet characterised. Surface warmth during the first two or three charge cycles is expected and typically resolves as internal resistance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch — not just warm — remove it from the charger and let it cool before continuing. After two or three full cycles at standard rate, charging temperature settles to the same range as the original cell.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my OT-918 Mix — what happened?
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell may not immediately negotiate the proprietary fast-charge handshake with the phone's charge IC, falling back to standard 5V charging instead. This is a one-cycle behaviour caused by the charge IC running an identification pass on the new cell before unlocking higher current. Disconnect the charger, power the phone off completely, then reconnect — most units accept the fast-charge handshake on the second connection attempt once the BMS has completed its initialisation pass.
