Sale priceFrom $23.99 USD Regular price $29.99
Shipping calculated at checkout.
Fits BASE VARIA smartphones and replaces the original 3.7V lithium-ion cell completely.
3.7V and 1500mAh capacity delivers the same output as the factory pack for calling, messaging, and app operation.
Connector seats into the BASE VARIA battery slot with no adapter needed; locking tab holds the cell flush against the contact plate.
We bench-tested this cell in the VARIA platform — BMS accepted charge current without cutoff, fuel gauge IC initialized on first power-up.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BASE VARIA — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the BASE VARIA smartphone. It slots into the VARIA to restore power after the original cell degrades or fails to hold charge. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.

  • VARIA platform fit: The VARIA runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture. The charge IC and BMS handshake are calibrated to this voltage rail — swapping to a mismatched cell trips the protection circuit. This replacement matches the cell count, connector, and BMS communication the VARIA expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, standby, and active load on the bench. The BMS held cutoff correctly at both the low-voltage floor and the 4.2V charge ceiling. No thermal event, no mid-cycle disconnect.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the VARIA reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The VARIA's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches what the new cell actually does under load. The IC reads voltage and estimates percentage against the wrong model, so the number on screen drifts. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full uninterrupted charge cycle forces the IC to relearn the curve against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the VARIA after replacement

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell and misjudges the remaining voltage. The new cell hits its actual low-voltage floor — typically around 3.4V — while the display still shows 20–30%. The modem or screen draws a short current spike, the cell can't sustain voltage, and the BMS trips. Run one full cycle with the screen on and mobile data active to accelerate recalibration and confirm the cell can sustain load voltage above 3.5V at the reported 20% mark.

Frequently Asked Questions

The VARIA won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Likely not dead — it's a BMS lockout. Li-ion cells that drop below roughly 2.5V during storage trigger the protection circuit, which disconnects the cell to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger (not a PC USB port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons — the charge IC needs to trickle current in below the BMS trip threshold before normal charging can start. If the screen still shows nothing after that window, check the charge port for debris and retry with a known-good cable.

Fast charging stopped working on the VARIA right after I fitted the replacement — the phone just charges slowly now.

The proprietary charge protocol negotiation runs between the charger and the phone's charge IC. On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS sometimes presents an impedance the charge IC reads as a fault condition, so it drops to standard 5V slow charge as a safety fallback. Complete one full slow charge to 100% without interruption, then unplug and discharge normally to around 10–15% before plugging the fast charger in again — most units re-negotiate the fast charge handshake successfully on the second cycle.

The VARIA battery percentage is jumping around erratically — it went from 45% to 61% just sitting on the desk.

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. The coulomb counter inside the phone was tuned to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. The new 1500mAh cell has a noticeably different internal resistance and voltage-to-capacity curve, so the IC's estimates are temporarily unreliable. Run two complete discharge-to-shutdown and full-charge cycles with the phone in normal use, keeping mobile data on during discharge to apply a realistic load. Percentage readings typically stabilise within those two cycles once the IC has enough data points to rebuild its model.
