Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel OT-918 Mix — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (CAB32A0001C1)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1650mAh (6.11Wh), built to fit the Alcatel OT-918 Mix and One Touch 918 Mix smartphones. It also covers the EE40 and EE40VB variants that share the same connector and physical footprint. OEM part numbers CAB32A0001C1, TLiB5AB, and CAB32A0000C2 all cross-reference to this cell.
- OT-918 Mix and EE40 variant fit: These models share an identical 51.83 × 50.78 × 5.41mm cavity, the same three-pin connector, and a compatible BMS handshake. Swapping between variants uses the same cell — no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an OT-918 Mix body. The BMS accepted charge current without tripping, voltage held steady under screen-on and call load, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, run one full discharge to auto-off and charge back to 100% without interruption. This lets the phone's fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before reporting accurate percentages.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT-918 Mix after a cell swap
The OT-918 Mix's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old cell in its coulomb counter. When the replacement cell hits a voltage point the gauge hasn't seen before, the phone reads available charge as zero and cuts power — even though the reported percentage looks safe. This is a calibration mismatch, not a faulty cell. One complete discharge-to-auto-off followed by a full charge to 100% resets the counter against the new curve and stops the premature shutdowns.
OT-918 Mix not powering on after sitting in storage
If the phone sat unused for weeks or months, the cell may have self-discharged below the BMS lockout threshold — typically under 2.5V per cell. At that voltage, the BMS opens the protection circuit and blocks all current flow, so the phone appears completely dead even on charge. Connect the phone to a low-current USB charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC on most OT-918 units will trickle-charge the cell back above the 2.5V re-enable threshold. Once the charging indicator appears on screen, normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
The OT-918 Mix shuts off at around 25% battery — is the replacement cell defective?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the OT-918 Mix calibrated its coulomb counter to the old cell's discharge curve, and the new cell hits voltage sag at a different point under modem or screen load. The phone interprets that voltage drop as empty and cuts power. Run one full discharge to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the gauge recalibrates against the new curve and the early shutdowns stop.
The phone won't turn on after I installed the new battery — nothing happens when I press the power button.
If the replacement cell shipped at a low state of charge and the phone sat a while before installation, the cell voltage may have dropped below the BMS lockout threshold of around 2.5V. The protection circuit opens and blocks all current, including charge current, so the phone looks completely dead. Plug into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it untouched for 20 to 30 minutes. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage crosses back above the re-enable threshold, at which point the charging indicator appears and normal operation resumes.
The battery percentage on my OT-918 Mix jumps around erratically after the swap — goes from 60% to 80% and back without charging.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating in real time against a cell it has no reference data for. The coulomb counter is interpolating against the old discharge curve and getting mismatched readings as load current changes. It is not a hardware fault. Complete two full discharge-to-auto-off and charge-to-100% cycles and the percentage display will stabilise as the IC builds an accurate map of the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship.
