Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL J210 / J300 / J310 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1450mAh Li-ion cell for the TCL J210, J300, and J310 smartphones. It replaces a degraded or failed original cell and restores the phone to normal operation. Capacity is rated at 5.37Wh and dimensions are 64.15 × 49.98 × 4.20mm — confirm these against your original before installing.
- J210 / J300 / J310 platform fit: These three models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and connector pinout. Swapping the same cell across all three works because TCL used a common internal platform for this range — the BMS on each device reads the same charge termination signals.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted charge termination at the correct cutoff voltage and showed no unexpected protection trips during the discharge curve.
- Fuel gauge recalibration tip: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. The fuel gauge IC in these TCL models calibrated itself against the old cell's discharge curve — giving it one slow, full cycle lets it remap to the new cell before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TCL J210 after a cell swap
The TCL J210's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that curve no longer matches the actual voltage drop profile of the replacement. Under load — mobile data, GPS, or screen at full brightness — the phone sees a sharp voltage sag the IC didn't predict, and the protection circuit cuts power before the displayed percentage reaches zero. This is not a defective cell. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard charge rate gives the coulomb counter enough data to recalibrate. After that cycle, the shutdowns stop.
Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a conditioned one. The charge IC on the J210 and J300 pushes current at its normal rate regardless, which generates more heat across a higher-resistance cell. This is expected on cycles one through three and settles as the cell conditions. If the back of the phone is too hot to hold comfortably or charging stops and restarts repeatedly, disconnect and let the phone cool to room temperature before resuming — then check that the charge voltage at the connector reads between 4.1V and 4.2V at termination.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TCL J210 powers off at around 25% battery — did I get a bad replacement cell?
The cell itself is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the J210 is still using the discharge curve it learned from the original battery, and the new cell's voltage drops faster under load than the IC expects — so the protection circuit cuts power early. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully with fast charging off. That single cycle gives the coulomb counter enough data to remap to the new cell's curve, and the early shutdowns stop.
The battery percentage on my J300 jumps around erratically after I fitted the new cell — sometimes it gains 5% while I'm using it.
Erratic percentage readings are the fuel gauge IC actively recalibrating. The IC lost its reference point when the old cell was removed, and it's now estimating charge state against an incomplete dataset. The readings settle after one or two full discharge-charge cycles at standard (non-fast) charge rate. If the jumping persists past three full cycles, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partially connected cell gives the IC inconsistent voltage readings and it cannot converge on an accurate estimate.
My TCL J310 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS will have entered lockout mode and the phone will not power on — holding the power button does nothing. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell at a low rate to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold. Once voltage crosses roughly 3.0V, the BMS exits lockout and the phone will respond to the power button.
