Fits Aldi Slimline X5 digital camera, replaces original 3.7V Li-ion cell CS-NP900.
3.7V nominal, 600mAh capacity delivers 2.22Wh energy for standard photo and video shooting cycles.
Connector slides straight into camera battery slot with flat terminal orientation, no locking tab.
Bench test showed BMS accepted cell on first insertion with no authentication delay, steady discharge curve.
On first use, run one full charge cycle through the camera body before extended shooting — Aldi's BMS needs internal charge to map the new cell's discharge curve accurately to the battery-remaining display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Aldi Slimline X5 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 600mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Aldi Slimline X5 compact digital camera. It restores full shooting capability after the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification exactly.

  • Slimline X5 fit: The Slimline X5 uses a slim single-cell pack at 3.7V nominal. The cell dimensions — 43.70 x 31.30 x 7.00mm — and the contact layout must match exactly or the camera body will not close and the BMS will not initialise. This replacement meets both requirements.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Slimline X5 body and confirmed the BMS accepted the cell, reported battery status correctly, and held voltage above 3.5V across a standard shooting load including LCD and flash activity.
  • First-install charge cycle: Insert this cell and run one full charge cycle through the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some compact camera BMS firmware requires an internal charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator to a new cell's discharge curve. Skipping this step can cause the indicator to read inaccurately from the first shot.

Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged replacement cell

The Slimline X5 maps its battery indicator against a stored discharge curve from the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile can trigger a low-battery warning even when actual cell voltage is above 3.6V. This is a firmware threshold mismatch, not a cell fault. Running one full charge-discharge cycle inside the camera body resets the reference point and clears the false warning.

Battery percentage jumping erratically during shooting

Erratic percentage readings on the Slimline X5 happen when the camera's voltage-to-percentage map does not align with the new cell's discharge curve. The original cell and a replacement cell can have slightly different mid-discharge voltage plateaus — the camera reads those differences as sudden capacity drops. This is not a sign of a faulty replacement. Charge the cell fully via the camera body, run it down to auto-shutoff once, then recharge fully — the indicator will stabilise from that point.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Aldi Slimline X5 shows a dead battery warning right after inserting a new cell — is the replacement faulty?

It is almost certainly not faulty. The camera's BMS compares incoming voltage against a stored discharge curve from the original cell, and a new cell's resistance profile can trigger a false low-battery flag even above 3.6V. We saw this on the bench with a freshly charged cell reading low on first install. Insert the cell, charge it fully through the camera body, then run it to auto-shutoff once — the warning clears after that cycle.

The battery percentage on my Slimline X5 drops from 80% to 20% in just a few shots — what's causing it?

This is a voltage-threshold mapping issue, not cell failure. The Slimline X5 calculates remaining charge by reading cell voltage against a fixed discharge curve tuned to the original battery. A replacement cell with a slightly different mid-discharge plateau causes the camera to interpret normal voltage sag as a steep capacity drop. Run one full charge cycle inside the camera body — charge fully, shoot until auto-shutoff, recharge fully — and the percentage display will track accurately from that point.

My Slimline X5 flash takes much longer to recycle between shots near the end of a charge — is the cell going flat too fast?

Flash recycling slows down because the capacitor recharge current draws more from the cell as voltage drops toward the low-voltage cutoff, typically below 3.4V. The cell is not failing early — it is simply approaching end of discharge, and capacitor recharge is one of the highest instantaneous current draws in this camera. You will also see the LCD dim slightly at the same point. When recycling lag appears, charge the cell — it means available capacity is genuinely low, not that the replacement is underperforming.
