Fits Kyocera U4R, U4RB, U4RBK digital cameras; replaces OEM part BP-1100S.
3.7V, 1100mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 4.07Wh for full imaging sensor and electronic operation.
Connector seats flush into camera battery slot with positive terminal aligned to spring contact.
We ran full charge cycles on U4R bodies; BMS accepted the cell without authentication errors or voltage drift.
On first install, charge the battery fully inside the camera body before heavy shooting — Kyocera's BMS requires an internal charge cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve for accurate remaining-battery display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyocera U4R Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-1100S)

This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh lithium-ion replacement for the original BP-1100S battery. It fits the Kyocera U4R, U4RB, and U4RBK digital cameras. Same voltage, same footprint, same connector pin layout as the factory cell.

  • U4R, U4RB, U4RBK compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS voltage thresholds — 3.7V nominal, 4.2V charge ceiling. One cell fits all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the U4R body and an OEM-compatible charger. The BMS accepted charge handshake on first insertion and held charge termination at 4.2V without deviation.
  • First-cycle calibration on the U4R body: Before heavy shooting, run the first full charge directly through the camera body rather than a standalone charger. The U4R's battery indicator maps its percentage display to a charge curve it reads during that first in-body cycle — skipping it can cause the indicator to read inaccurately for several sessions.

Why the U4R battery percentage jumps erratically after a replacement cell is installed

The U4R uses a voltage-threshold method to estimate remaining charge. The camera maps specific voltage levels — typically 3.6V, 3.75V, and 4.0V — to display steps on its indicator. A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than a worn original, so the camera reads voltage drops at unexpected points and the percentage jumps. This corrects itself after one or two full discharge-and-charge cycles. Run the battery down to auto-shutoff, then charge fully to 4.2V to let the camera recalibrate its voltage map.

U4R showing dead battery icon immediately after inserting a charged replacement

This happens when the cell voltage sits just below the camera's minimum recognition threshold — usually under 3.5V — after shipping or storage. The camera sees insufficient voltage on the sense pin and throws the dead-battery indicator before attempting to read capacity. Remove the cell, place it in a standalone charger, and bring it up to at least 3.6V. Once it clears that threshold, the U4R body will recognise it normally on reinsertion.

Frequently Asked Questions

My U4R shows the battery icon as dead the moment I put the new cell in — is the battery faulty?

Not necessarily. Cells can drop below the U4R's minimum recognition voltage during shipping or storage. The camera won't read a cell sitting under roughly 3.5V — it just shows the dead-battery icon and stops there. Put the cell in a standalone charger first and bring it up to at least 3.6V, then reinsert it into the camera body.

The battery percentage on my U4R keeps jumping around — it shows 80%, then drops to 40% a few shots later.

The U4R estimates charge by reading voltage at fixed thresholds and mapping those to display steps. A new cell's discharge curve doesn't always match what the camera expects from the worn original, so the indicator jumps when voltage drops through those thresholds faster or slower than anticipated. Run the cell down to auto-shutoff, then charge fully to 4.2V. After one or two full cycles, the readings stabilise.

My shot count is noticeably lower than I was getting with the original battery — same 1100mAh rating, so why?

Shot count depends on more than capacity alone. The flash capacitor, continuous autofocus, and the rear LCD each add to per-shot draw well beyond what the spec sheet accounts for. A new cell also hasn't settled into its full cycle capacity yet — lithium-ion cells typically reach peak usable capacity after three to five full charge cycles. Complete three full discharge-to-shutoff and charge-to-4.2V cycles before comparing shot counts to the original.
