Fits Alpina AR 1 500, AR2 1200, AR2 600, and AR1 500 cordless mowers; replaces OEM battery pack.
25.2V, 3400mAh lithium-ion cell delivers consistent power to blade motor and cutting deck throughout mow cycle.
Slot connector orientation matches Alpina platform; battery seats flush with locking tab engagement on deck housing.
We bench-tested this pack across full-discharge cycles; BMS held steady under normal cutting load without nuisance shutoffs.
Before first spring use, bring the battery indoors overnight if outdoor temperatures are below 10°C — cold cells trip blade motor inrush protection.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alpina AR 1 500 / AR2 1200 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 25.2V, 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Alpina AR 1 500, AR1 500, AR2 600, and AR2 1200 cordless lawn mowers. It matches the original voltage rail and connector configuration the mower's BMS expects. Capacity is 3400mAh (85.68Wh) — taken from product data, not estimated.

  • AR 1 500 and AR2 series compatibility: These models share the same 25.2V battery platform and connector footprint. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across the range, so one pack fits all listed variants without adapter or modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through a full charge-discharge cycle on the AR 1 500 platform. The BMS held stable under simulated blade-motor inrush current and did not trip at normal residential cutting loads on dry grass.
  • Seasonal storage tip: If the mower has sat through winter, bring the battery indoors overnight before the first spring cut. Below 10°C, Li-ion cells develop higher internal resistance. The blade motor's inrush current on a cold pack can trip the BMS before the blades reach full speed.

BMS cutoff under thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The AR 1 500's blade motor draws significantly more current through dense or wet grass than on a clean dry lawn. If the instantaneous draw spikes past the BMS overcurrent threshold, the pack cuts power to protect the cells. This shows as the mower stopping abruptly mid-row. The fix is to slow the walking pace through heavy sections and let the blade maintain speed — this keeps draw below the trip point. If the mower cuts out, remove the pack, wait 30 seconds, and reinsert — the BMS resets once the thermal and current flags clear.

Charger shows fault light after mower sat all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the pack sat unused for more than three months, cell voltage may have dropped below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 20V for a 25.2V pack. A fault light or no-charge response does not always mean the pack is dead. Place the battery in the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without interruption — many chargers run a recovery pulse at low current before switching to full charge. If the fault light persists after 20 minutes, check the charger terminals for corrosion and confirm the pack surface temperature is above 10°C before retrying.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Alpina AR 1 500 cuts out halfway across the lawn then starts working again after a short wait — what's happening?

This is thermal protection activating in the BMS. The blade motor builds heat in the pack during sustained cutting, and the BMS cuts power once internal temperature hits its limit. Allow a 5-minute cooldown with the pack removed from the mower — this lets heat dissipate from the cells. If it happens repeatedly on a new pack, check that grass is dry before cutting and reduce your walking pace through longer sections.

The new battery runs noticeably warmer than the old one after a full mow — is something wrong?

Warmth in the first few charge-discharge cycles is normal. New Li-ion cells condition over approximately 5 full cycles, during which internal resistance is slightly higher and heat output is greater than it will be once the cells are broken in. After 5 cycles the pack should run cooler and deliver more consistent output. If it is hot to the touch — not just warm — after cycle 6 or beyond, check that the battery bay vents on the mower are clear of grass clippings.

My AR 1 500 struggles to reach full blade speed on cold mornings even with a charged battery — why?

Below 10°C, Li-ion cells lose usable capacity and their internal resistance rises. The blade motor sees less effective voltage on startup, so it takes longer to spin up or may stall under load. This is a chemistry limitation, not a fault with the pack. Bring the battery indoors for at least an hour before cutting on cold mornings — a pack at room temperature will deliver noticeably stronger motor inrush current than one pulled straight from a cold garage.
