Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Zucchetti 075Z01300A — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 25.2V Li-ion battery rated at 3400mAh (85.68Wh), sourced as a direct replacement for the Zucchetti OEM part numbers 075Z01300A and 075Z61700A. It fits Zucchetti cordless lawn mowers that run on the 25.2V platform. The cell chemistry and BMS configuration match the original pack's voltage profile and discharge curve.

  • 25.2V mower platform: Zucchetti mowers on this voltage rail use a 6S Li-ion cell stack. The BMS monitors individual cell groups and cuts output if any group drops below the lower protection threshold during blade motor load spikes. This replacement uses a matched 6S configuration to maintain that handshake.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through simulated blade motor inrush loads — the BMS held without nuisance tripping under sustained high-draw cycles. Cell balancing was confirmed across all groups before despatch.
  • Seasonal storage before first spring use: Before first use of the season, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the cells have warmed up.

BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load

The blade motor on a cordless mower draws its highest current during startup and when cutting through dense or wet grass. If that inrush spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold, the pack shuts off immediately as a protection response — not a battery fault. Let the mower sit for 30 seconds to allow the BMS to reset, then restart on a lighter pass. Keeping blade speed up before entering thick sections reduces the inrush spike significantly.

Charger showing fault after mower sat in garage all winter

Li-ion packs self-discharge slowly during storage. Over a full winter, cell voltage can drop below the charger's minimum acceptance threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or roughly 15V at pack level for a 6S configuration. When a charger sees voltage below that floor, it flags a fault rather than attempting a charge. If the pack reads above 15V on a multimeter, a charger with a recovery or trickle mode can bring it back; if it reads below that, the cells have likely degraded past safe recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Zucchetti mower cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again after a minute — what's causing that?

That's thermal protection triggering in the BMS, not a faulty battery. The blade motor generates sustained heat under continuous load, and the BMS cuts output once the pack temperature hits its protection threshold. Allow a 5-minute cooldown before restarting — the BMS resets automatically once temperature drops. Mowing in shorter passes with brief pauses reduces how often this trips.

The charger accepted the new pack on first charge, but the battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one during use — is that normal?

Yes, for the first 5 charge and discharge cycles, new Li-ion cells run warmer than a broken-in pack. The cells are conditioning — internal resistance is slightly higher until the electrolyte fully wets the electrode surfaces. Surface temperature should normalise by the fifth cycle. If the pack is hot to the touch or the mower cuts out from heat after 5 cycles, check that the battery bay vents are clear of grass clippings.

The mower starts fine on a warm day but bogs down and loses power immediately on a cold morning — what's happening?

Li-ion cells deliver noticeably less current below 10°C because internal resistance rises sharply in the cold. The blade motor demands peak current on startup, and a cold pack can't supply it cleanly — the result is a sluggish start or BMS trip. Bring the battery indoors the night before use and let it reach room temperature. A pack at 20°C will deliver full rated current from the first blade rotation.
