Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Amazing A2 — 3.7V Li-ion 1600mAh Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Amazing A2 smartphone. It fits directly into the A2 and restores power when the original cell has degraded or failed. Capacity is 5.92Wh as rated from the cell specification.
- Amazing A2 fit: The A2 uses a single-cell 3.7V nominal Li-ion configuration. This replacement matches that voltage rail and the physical dimensions of the original cell — 59.40 x 46.00 x 5.10mm — so the connector aligns and the BMS on the phone's charge IC communicates correctly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, monitoring BMS handshake and cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage threshold and accepted charge current without error flags on the first full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the A2's fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes into an uncalibrated state. One slow cycle prevents erratic percentage readings later.
Why the A2 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The A2's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so the reported percentage drifts from real charge state. The IC needs at least one full discharge down to the low-voltage cutoff — around 3.0V — followed by a complete charge to 4.2V to re-anchor its coulomb counter. Until that cycle completes, the percentage readout will lag or jump. Run one full cycle before trusting the displayed percentage.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the A2's modem or display draws a current spike the new cell cannot sustain at that state of charge, causing cell voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the gauge still reads 20–30%. It is a voltage cliff — not a capacity problem. A full calibration cycle as described above usually shifts the cutoff point to a more accurate state-of-charge reading. If shutdowns continue after calibration, check that the connector is fully seated and cell voltage at rest reads at least 3.7V with a multimeter before reinstalling.

Frequently Asked Questions
The A2 won't turn on at all after I installed the new battery — did it come discharged?
Replacement cells often sit in storage and can drop below 3.0V, which triggers BMS lockout — the protection circuit disconnects the cell entirely to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger (not a PC port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC on the A2 will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold of roughly 2.5–3.0V per cell, after which the phone should power on normally.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the A2's charge controller may fall back to standard 5V charging because the new BMS hasn't completed a full handshake with the proprietary charge protocol. This is normal and not a fault with the replacement cell. Run one complete charge to 100% on standard charging, then disconnect and allow a full discharge before recharging. Fast charging typically re-enables itself once the charge IC has completed one full negotiation cycle with the new cell's BMS.
The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — it reads 60%, drops to 40%, then jumps back up.
The A2's fuel gauge IC is running its coulomb counter against the old cell's stored discharge curve, which no longer matches the new cell. The mismatch causes the reported percentage to drift, jump, or oscillate as the IC loses track of true charge state. Discharge the phone completely until it shuts off on its own, then charge it uninterrupted to 100% using a wall adapter without unplugging mid-cycle. After that single calibration cycle, the fuel gauge re-anchors its curve to the new cell and the percentage readings stabilise.
