Fits Vivo S9 and V2072A models replacing OEM battery part number B-P9.
3.89V, 3900mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers full charge capacity for processor, display, and connectivity without voltage sag under load.
Connector seats flush into the S9 battery slot with standard polymer tab locking — no adapter required, alignment is keyed.
We bench-tested this cell in the S9 platform; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and fuel gauge cycled through one full discharge without early shutdown or reporting errors.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before USB-PD pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vivo S9 / V2072A — 3.89V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B-P9)

This 3.89V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original B-P9 battery in the Vivo S9 and V2072A smartphones. It fits the same physical footprint at 83.40 × 61.90 × 4.22mm and connects to the existing flex cable without modification. Capacity is 15.17Wh, matching the factory specification.

  • S9 and V2072A fitment: Both model numbers refer to the same hardware revision — same battery bay dimensions, same connector pinout, and same BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the B-P9 replacement through charge and discharge on the S9 mainboard. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC reached full charge cutoff at the correct terminal voltage.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% after fitting the B-P9 replacement

This happens because the Vivo S9 fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old, degraded cell. The new cell holds a higher voltage at low state-of-charge than the IC expects, so the phone reads 25% while the actual cell voltage is already near the load-collapse threshold. Under modem or display load, voltage dips briefly below the system cutoff and the phone shuts off. One full discharge to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge without interruption, forces the coulomb counter to resync to the new cell curve and clears this behaviour.

USB-PD fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement

After a cell swap, the BMS on the replacement unit starts in a conservative state. The Vivo S9 charge IC queries the BMS before stepping up to fast charge current, and if the BMS has not completed its first charge cycle, it responds with a lower negotiated current limit. Fast charging typically activates normally from the second charge cycle onward. If fast charge still does not engage after two full cycles, check that the charger is the original Vivo adapter — third-party adapters may not assert the correct voltage handshake to unlock the fast charge rail.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Vivo S9 keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the replacement faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC in the S9 is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's state-of-charge at low voltage. Under any heavy load — mobile data, screen at full brightness — the actual cell voltage dips below the system cutoff before the percentage hits zero. Let the phone drain fully to automatic shutdown once, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the phone. That single cycle forces the coulomb counter to remap to the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my S9 keeps jumping around after replacing the B-P9 — it went from 60% to 45% in seconds without me doing anything.

Erratic percentage jumps are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating in real time against a cell it has no prior data for. The coulomb counter lost its reference point when the old cell was removed, so it is estimating charge state from voltage alone, which is noisy. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles — drain to shutdown each time, then charge to 100% — and the IC builds enough discharge data to track the new cell accurately. After two cycles the percentage reading stabilises.

Fast charging stopped working on my Vivo S9 the day I swapped the battery — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the replacement cell responds to the charge IC's handshake with a reduced current limit. The S9 charge controller interprets that as a signal to stay at standard charge rate rather than stepping up to fast charge. This resolves on its own after the first complete charge cycle. If fast charging still does not activate after two full cycles, confirm you are using the original Vivo fast charge adapter — a third-party charger may not assert the correct voltage signal to negotiate the higher current rail.
