Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Arlo Pro 3 / Pro 4 / Go 2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A-7a / A-14 / 308-50019-01)
This 3.7V Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in Arlo Pro 3, Pro 4, FB1001, and Go 2 cameras, along with nine additional compatible models. Capacity is 10400mAh (38.48Wh) — the same form factor as the OEM unit. It slots into the camera's battery bay without any wiring or tools.
- Pro 3, Pro 4, and Go 2 compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture and identical battery bay dimensions. The connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol are consistent across the platform, so one battery SKU serves all of them without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through the Arlo Pro 3 charge and discharge sequence and monitored BMS cutoff thresholds at both ends. The protection circuit triggered correctly at over-voltage and under-voltage limits, and charge acceptance matched OEM behaviour at the 4.2V ceiling.
- First-install power cycle: After inserting this battery, trigger a full power cycle through the Arlo app before relying on motion recording. The camera's firmware must register the new cell to log motion events correctly to cloud storage — skipping this step can cause the first few triggered clips to fail silently.
Camera going offline in the Arlo app after battery swap
Swapping the battery interrupts the camera's active session with Arlo's cloud servers. The firmware stores a session token that becomes invalid once power drops to zero. When the new battery restores power, the camera attempts to reconnect using the stale token and fails. Open the Arlo app, navigate to device settings, and force a manual sync or re-registration to push a fresh token and bring the camera back online.
App showing 0% or incorrect percentage after battery installation
Arlo cameras use a voltage-threshold indicator — not a fuel gauge IC — to estimate remaining capacity. A new battery at partial state of charge may sit at a voltage level the camera misreads as empty or near-empty. This is a calibration gap, not a faulty cell. Run one complete charge cycle from the camera's solar input or USB-C charge port until the indicator reads 100%, then let it discharge under normal use to re-anchor the thresholds correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Arlo Pro 3 stop recording partway through a motion clip after I installed the new battery?
Mid-clip recording failures are almost always caused by a WiFi reconnect current spike. When the camera's WiFi radio ramps up to push footage to the cloud on a weak signal, the combined draw from the processor, radio, and IR LEDs can briefly exceed the BMS threshold and trip the protection circuit. Move the camera closer to the router or add a WiFi extender — if the signal strength holds above -65 dBm, the BMS trip stops occurring.
My Arlo Pro 3's night vision cuts out or the camera goes to sleep during overnight monitoring — what's causing this?
Sustained IR LED draw is the culprit. Night vision keeps the infrared array active continuously, which is a higher steady-state current load than daytime motion detection. If the battery voltage sags below the camera's low-voltage warning threshold during this sustained draw, the firmware puts the camera into a low-power sleep state to protect the cell. Charge the battery fully to 4.2V before an overnight monitoring window, and verify the charge indicator in the Arlo app reads 100% before leaving the camera unattended.
My solar panel isn't recharging the Arlo battery after it fully depleted — why won't it recover?
A fully depleted Li-ion cell drops below the BMS re-entry voltage — typically around 2.5V — and the protection circuit locks the battery out of normal charge mode. Most Arlo-compatible solar panels deliver only 6V at low winter irradiance, which is often insufficient to push the cell back above that re-entry threshold. Connect the battery to the Arlo magnetic charging cable or a USB-C charger first to bring the cell voltage above 3.0V, then return it to the camera for continued solar top-up.
