Fits Ascom Linga cordless phone handset; replaces OEM battery for model Linga.
3.6V 1200mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers rated capacity for full talk and standby time on this DECT handset.
Connector slots into handset battery compartment with push-tab release; no polarity confusion on this single-pin design.
We ran full discharge cycles on a Linga test unit; BMS voltage held steady until final cutoff, no mid-cycle sag.
After install, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Ascom Linga — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Ascom Linga cordless DECT phone handset. It restores power to the handset when the original cell no longer holds a charge or fails to power on. Voltage and capacity match the Linga's original specification exactly.

  • Ascom Linga handset fit: The Linga uses a 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH pack at a fixed form factor — 52.00 x 42.30 x 14.20mm. This replacement matches that footprint and voltage rail so the handset's charge circuit recognises the pack without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the Linga platform. The handset's charge circuit accepted the battery without fault flags, and the Ni-MH chemistry reached stable capacity output by the third full cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: Place the handset in the base cradle immediately after installing this battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before taking the first call. Ni-MH cells in DECT handsets need that slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — a quick top-up before first use will permanently reduce what this pack delivers.

Base station showing no charge light after fitting a new Ni-MH pack

Ni-MH batteries lose voltage during storage. If this pack sat in a warehouse for several months, its resting voltage may have dropped below the threshold the Linga base uses to confirm a valid cell is present. The base then withholds charge current rather than risk a fault condition. To break the deadlock, hold the handset firmly in the cradle for 10–15 minutes — most Ascom bases will detect a small trickle-charge response and switch into full charge mode. If the charge indicator still does not activate, confirm the handset contacts and cradle pins are clean and making solid contact.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

This is a Ni-MH conditioning issue, not a faulty cell. Fresh Ni-MH packs do not deliver their rated 1200mAh on the first cycle — capacity builds over three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles as the cell chemistry stabilises. After each call session, return the handset to the base and allow it to charge fully before the next use. By cycle five, talk time should reach the level the original battery delivered when new.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ascom Linga handset lost its pairing with the base right after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones drop their registration data when power is fully removed, and the Linga can behave this way after a battery swap. Re-register the handset manually: press and hold the registration button on the base until the pairing LED flashes, then follow the handset's on-screen pairing prompt. The process takes under two minutes and does not affect other registered handsets on the same base.

The Linga battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing that?

If the handset is not fully seated in the cradle, the charging contacts lose connection and the handset runs entirely off the battery in standby. Check that the handset clicks positively into the base and that the charge indicator light is active. Also inspect the cradle pins for dust or residue — a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol clears most contact issues. Once proper seating is confirmed, a full overnight charge should restore the pack to 4.32Wh capacity.

The Linga's range seems noticeably worse since I put in the new battery — is the battery causing that?

Yes, a weak or partially charged Ni-MH pack causes this. The handset's DECT transmitter draws a short burst of higher current when it pushes signal to the base, and an under-charged Ni-MH cell sags in voltage under that RF load. The base interprets the weaker signal as a range problem, but the root cause is voltage sag from a battery that hasn't yet completed its conditioning cycles. Run three to five full charge cycles and confirm the handset charges to completion — resting voltage on a full 3.6V Ni-MH pack should measure approximately 4.0–4.2V at the terminals before range performance returns to normal.
