Fits Loewe Alpha TEL3100, Alpha LT2130, and AlphaTel 3100DE cordless handsets; replaces OEM battery pack.
3.6V, 320mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers the output this DECT handset needs for full range and talk time.
Battery slides into the handset compartment with a positive-end-first orientation; tab locks into the retention clip.
We bench tested this cell on a Loewe base charger; BMS accepted voltage immediately and held contact stability through five charge cycles.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Loewe Alpha TEL3100 / Alpha LT2130 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 320mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for Loewe cordless handsets. It fits the Alpha TEL3100, Alpha LT2130, and AlphaTel 3100DE. When the original pack loses capacity and the handset dies mid-call, this is the direct swap.

  • Alpha TEL3100 / LT2130 / 3100DE compatibility: These three handsets share the same 3.6V single-cell NiMH bay, connector pitch, and charge-termination voltage. One replacement covers all three without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted the NiMH charge curve correctly, with delta-V termination triggering cleanly at full capacity — no false cutoffs, no overcharge.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After fitting, seat the handset in the base cradle for a full 16-hour slow charge before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need this initial slow charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it can leave you with noticeably shorter talk time from the first session.

Base station charge light not coming on with a new NiMH pack

Loewe bases use a voltage threshold to detect a battery before starting the charge cycle. A new NiMH pack sitting in storage can drop to 3.2V or lower, which falls below what some bases will recognise. The base sees no battery and shows no charge activity. Seat the handset firmly in the cradle — if the light still does not come on after a few minutes, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it. That brief interruption forces the base to re-poll the battery voltage and usually triggers charging.

Talk time shorter than expected for the first few cycles

NiMH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles to reach rated capacity. After the first charge, talk time will be noticeably below the original battery's peak — that is normal, not a fault. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full charge. Repeat this three to five times and capacity will stabilise at its rated 320mAh level.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Loewe handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones lose their pairing data when power is completely removed from the handset. This happens because the registration is held in volatile memory that clears the moment the battery comes out. Re-pairing is straightforward: put the base into registration mode (usually a button hold on the base unit), then trigger the handset search from the handset menu. Consult the TEL3100 manual for the exact key sequence — registration takes under 60 seconds once both units are in pairing mode.

The handset is fully charged but loses signal range at the far end of the house — could the battery be causing this?

Yes. When a NiMH pack ages or hasn't completed its conditioning cycles, voltage sags under the RF transmit load. The DECT radio in the Alpha TEL3100 draws a current spike each time it transmits, and a weak or under-conditioned battery can't hold the voltage rail steady — the radio drops power and range shrinks. Run three to five full discharge-charge cycles first. If range is still reduced after conditioning, check the battery voltage under load with a multimeter — it should hold above 3.4V during active call use.

The handset is sitting in the base all night but the battery is flat by morning — what's draining it?

This is a standby draw issue, not a capacity fault. If the handset isn't fully seated in the cradle, the charge contacts don't make a solid connection — the base shows the handset as docked but isn't actually topping up the pack overnight. Remove the handset, clean the metal charge contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset and press it firmly down until it clicks or sits flush. Check that the charge indicator light activates immediately on reseating.
