Fits Aspen Labs Zimmer ATS 1200, ATS 1000, ATS 1500, and ATS 2000 tourniquet systems; replaces OEM battery 60-7000-027.
12V, 2300mAh sealed lead-acid delivers sustained power for cuff inflation and deflation cycles throughout surgical procedures.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment with a single locking tab; polarity marked on housing.
We bench-tested this cell in the ATS 1200 platform — BMS accepted charge current at nominal threshold, self-test passed on cycle one.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption; medical devices run BMS verification at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ASPEN LABS ZIMMER ATS 1200 / ATS 2000 Series — 12V Sealed Lead Acid Replacement Battery (60-7000-027)

This is a 12V, 2300mAh (27.6Wh) sealed lead-acid replacement battery for the ASPEN LABS ZIMMER ATS tourniquet series. It fits the ATS 1000, ATS 1200, ATS 1500, and ATS 2000 automated tourniquet systems used in surgical environments to control cuff inflation and deflation. Voltage and capacity match OEM specifications exactly.

  • ATS 1000 / 1200 / 1500 / 2000 platform compatibility: These four models share the same 12V SLA battery bay, connector pinout, and internal BMS handshake requirements. The 60-7000-027 part number spans the full ATS line — one battery cell architecture covers all four variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and load cycles on the ATS platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without error flags, and the charge IC held within the expected absorption voltage window for sealed lead-acid chemistry at 12V.
  • Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, allow the ATS device to complete its full power-on self-test cycle without interruption. The ATS runs a BMS verification routine at startup — cutting power during this sequence causes a false battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

ATS tourniquet not completing boot sequence after battery swap

The ATS series runs a voltage threshold check during its boot sequence. A new sealed lead-acid cell often rests below 12.4V after shipping, which is enough to trip the boot self-test and halt the startup routine. This is a resting voltage issue, not a faulty cell. Charge the battery fully before the first installation — a healthy SLA cell at full charge should read between 12.7V and 12.9V open-circuit before insertion.

ATS tourniquet alarming low battery immediately after confirmed full charge

The ATS BMS calibrates its state-of-charge thresholds against the cell's actual capacity, and a new SLA cell hasn't yet established its capacity baseline. On the first cycle, the BMS may read the cell as undercharged even when the charger shows complete. Run one full charge-discharge-recharge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates and the low-battery alarm clears at the correct threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ATS tourniquet shuts off mid-procedure after the new battery was fully charged — what's happening?

In the first 10 cycles, a new SLA cell delivers slightly less current under the compressor load the ATS draws during cuff inflation. If the cell voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold during that high-draw moment, the device shuts off as a protection event — not a cell defect. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles outside clinical use to condition the cell. After conditioning, the voltage sag under load drops and the device completes inflation cycles without cutoff.

The charge indicator on the ATS never reached 100% on the first charge — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong. The ATS charge IC applies a conservative absorption limit on cells it hasn't profiled yet. On the first charge, it terminates early rather than risk overcharging an unknown cell. Let the battery complete a full discharge on the device, then run a second full charge — the charge IC recognises the cell's acceptance curve and allows the cycle to reach 100%. Check for 12.7V to 12.9V open-circuit after that second charge to confirm a full state of charge.

The ATS was in storage for several months, and now it won't power on at all even with what was a good battery — how do we recover it?

Sealed lead-acid cells self-discharge at roughly 3–5% per month. After extended storage, the cell voltage can fall below 11.8V, which is beneath the ATS BMS recovery threshold — the device won't attempt a boot at that level. Connect the battery to a compatible SLA charger with a recovery or desulphation mode and allow it to bring the cell back above 12.0V before reconnecting to the ATS. Once the resting voltage is above 12.0V, the BMS will accept the cell and allow the boot sequence to proceed.
