Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Astak Action Pro / CM7000 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 900mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the internal battery in the Astak Action Pro, Action Pro CM7000, CM7000, and CM-7200 compact action cameras. It matches the original cell's dimensions at 37.84 × 31.71 × 11.36mm, fitting the battery compartment without modification. Capacity is drawn from product specification at 900mAh (3.33Wh).

  • Action Pro and CM7000 platform fit: Both the Action Pro and CM7000 variants share the same battery bay geometry and 3.7V single-cell power rail, which is why one cell covers the full model range. The connector orientation and contact spacing are identical across these models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the CM7000 body, confirming the BMS accepted the cell at first charge and that the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff — no runaway discharge occurred.
  • First-use charge cycle on CM7000: Charge this cell fully inside the camera body before your first recording session. The CM7000's battery indicator maps charge state from a calibration point set during that initial in-body charge — skipping it causes the indicator to read inaccurately from the start.

Why the Action Pro shows a dead battery icon on a freshly installed replacement

The Action Pro's BMS checks resting voltage before unlocking normal operation. A new cell shipped in storage may sit at 3.5V or below — below the camera's acceptable threshold — even though the cell is not depleted. The camera reads this as a flat or missing battery and refuses to boot. Place the cell in the camera and connect it to charge via USB for at least 15 minutes before attempting to power on; once the cell climbs above 3.6V, the camera will boot normally.

Battery percentage jumping or stalling mid-recording session

The CM7000 maps its fuel gauge against a fixed discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A replacement cell with a slightly different discharge profile causes the indicator to jump — often dropping 20% suddenly or holding at a fixed percentage for an extended period before falling quickly to zero. This is a gauge calibration mismatch, not a fault in the cell itself. Run two full charge-discharge cycles inside the camera body and the indicator will track the new cell's curve more accurately, settling within a few percent of actual charge state.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Action Pro won't turn on at all after I installed the replacement battery — it just shows a battery icon and shuts off. What's wrong?

A new lithium-polymer cell often ships at a resting voltage of 3.4–3.5V, and the Action Pro's BMS won't boot the camera below roughly 3.6V. The camera isn't rejecting the cell — it's treating it as discharged. Connect the camera to USB power for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button, then try again once the cell has taken some charge.

The battery percentage on my CM7000 dropped from 80% to 15% in seconds — is the replacement cell defective?

Almost certainly not. The CM7000 fuel gauge is mapped to the original cell's discharge curve, and a replacement cell discharges at a slightly different voltage slope. Where the two curves diverge, the indicator drops sharply to catch up. Run the cell through two complete charge-to-discharge cycles inside the camera body and the gauge will re-map to the new cell's profile, giving a steadier readout.

My Action Pro feels noticeably warm during continuous video recording and the battery drains faster than expected — is something wrong with the replacement cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. Continuous video on the CM7000 platform loads the image sensor, processor, and USB controller simultaneously — total draw during sustained recording is significantly higher than the spec shot count assumes. Heat at the camera body is normal under that load. If drain seems excessive, check that the camera is not set to maximum resolution with continuous autofocus active; dropping to 720p reduces processor load and current draw measurably.
