If shutdowns persist past two full cycles, check that the battery flex connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises internal resistance and accelerates voltage sag under load.

Asus's fast-charge protocol on the ZS600KL requires a handshake between the charge IC and the battery's BMS before elevated current is allowed. On the first cycle with a new cell, the charge IC runs a trickle-charge authentication pass before it enables high-current mode — this is normal behaviour, not a fault. If fast charging still does not activate after the first full standard-rate cycle, force-restart the device and reconnect the original Asus charger. The charge IC re-initiates the handshake on boot and typically accepts the new cell from the second cycle onward, restoring full fast-charge current.
