The TP510 BIOS reads health data stored in the old cell's EEPROM. This happens when the cell can no longer sustain voltage under combined CPU and display load — the voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reaches zero. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to an older, degraded cell, so its percentage reading is no longer accurate against actual cell voltage. Run one full discharge cycle to hibernate-cutoff on the new cell to give the fuel gauge IC a clean baseline. After calibration the percentage readout and shutdown point will align — shutdowns should stop occurring above 10–15%.
