Fits Lenovo Chromebook N21 and N21-80MG, replaces L14C3P60, 5B10H45092, 5B10H33230, 5B10K10155, L14M3P23.
11.1V 3200mAh cell delivers the voltage and capacity needed to sustain full CPU and display load on the N21 without throttling.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We ran three full discharge cycles on a bench unit; the BMS reported stable voltage throughout each cycle with no early cutoff.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Chromebook N21 Series — 11.1V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (L14C3P60)

This 11.1V, 3200mAh (35.52Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Lenovo Chromebook N21 and N21-80MG. It matches OEM part numbers L14C3P60, 5B10H45092, 5B10H33230, 5B10K10155, and L14M3P23. If your N21 no longer holds a charge or the OS flags a battery fault, this is the direct replacement.

  • N21 and N21-80MG fitment: Both variants share the same 11.1V three-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers both SKUs without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the N21 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with ChromeOS, reported accurate state-of-charge, and held voltage within spec through the full discharge curve.
  • Post-install discharge cycle on the N21: After fitting, run the Chromebook down to automatic hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This triggers the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears in ChromeOS after any cell swap.

ChromeOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after swap

The Lenovo N21's BIOS carries EEPROM data from the original cell, including its accumulated wear history. When a new cell is installed, that stored data no longer matches actual battery state, so ChromeOS flags poor health before any real degradation has occurred. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate then a clean charge to 100% resets the learn cycle. After two to three calibration cycles, the health indicator reflects the new cell accurately.

N21 shuts down abruptly with 20–30% charge still showing

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The gauge loses track of real state-of-charge under CPU and display load, reads too high, then the cell hits its low-voltage cutoff without warning. It is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles — by the third cycle, the gauge IC recalibrates and the percentage reading stabilises against real cell voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

ChromeOS shows the new battery as 0% or "unknown" right after I installed it — is the cell dead?

The N21's BIOS is still reading EEPROM data from the old cell and hasn't recognised the new one yet. Power the Chromebook on, let it run down fully until it hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. That sequence forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to initialise against the new cell. After one complete cycle the status clears and reports correctly.

System info shows the battery's Wh rating as lower than the spec — why doesn't it match 35.52Wh?

The Wh figure shown in ChromeOS or the BIOS is pulled from EEPROM data written to the original cell at the factory, not measured live from the replacement. The new cell's actual capacity is 35.52Wh as rated, but the firmware reads stored values until the learn cycle overwrites them. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff followed by a complete charge to 100% — this updates the stored Wh figure to match the new cell.

New battery won't charge past 80% on the N21 — is the charger the problem?

This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a charger fault and not a cell fault. Lenovo's firmware on some N21 units ships with battery conservation mode active, which caps charging at 80% to reduce long-term cell stress. Open the Lenovo Vantage app or check BIOS power settings under Battery Conservation Mode and disable it. Once turned off, the next charge cycle will go to 100%.
