This 7.6V, 4900mAh (37.24Wh) lithium-polymer battery fits the Asus VivoBook E203MA and the broader E203 series notebook lineup. It replaces OEM part numbers 0B200-02500000, B31N1629, and C21N1629. The slim 4.35mm cell profile matches the original chassis clearance.

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The Wh figure shown in Windows or the BIOS is pulled from EEPROM data that the old cell wrote during its lifetime — the new cell carries different EEPROM values reflecting its rated chemistry, so the number changes. The actual usable energy is 37.24Wh as rated. Run the battery learn cycle (full discharge to hibernate, then uninterrupted charge to 100%) and the reported figure will settle to the correct value.
The E203MA fuel gauge jumps around wildly for the first few charges — showing 60%, then 85%, then 50% within minutes.
The fuel gauge IC on the E203MA board calibrates itself against discharge data accumulated over several cycles. With a new cell, it has no reference curve yet, so voltage readings under changing load translate to erratic percentage jumps. This is not a defective battery. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate cycles without interrupting the discharge, and the IC builds enough data to track the new cell accurately — gauge stability returns by the third cycle.
Charging stops at around 80% on the E203MA and never reaches 100% — the battery indicator just stays there.
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the battery or charger. Asus enables a battery health charging mode on many E203MA units that caps charge at 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Open the MyASUS app (or ASUS Battery Health Charging utility if installed), set the charge mode to Full Capacity, then reconnect the charger — charging will continue to 100%.
