Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus ZenFone Live L1 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C11P1709)
This 3.8V, 3000mAh (11.4Wh) Li-Polymer cell replaces the original C11P1709 battery in the Asus ZenFone Live L1, ZenFone Live L1 Dual SIM, ZenFone Live L1 Dual SIM LTE, and ZA550KL. It fits the same footprint at 76.40 x 58.26 x 4.00mm and connects to the same BMS interface the phone expects on startup.
- ZA550KL and Dual SIM variant compatibility: All four variants — standard, Dual SIM, Dual SIM LTE, and ZA550KL — share the same 3.8V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on ZA550KL hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, coulomb counter initialised cleanly, and the charge IC held the 4.35V upper cutoff as expected.
- First-cycle fast charge disable: On first use after installation, turn off fast charging in Settings and run one full discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the ZenFone Live L1
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity issue. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes sharply. If the cell's internal resistance is high — common in a degraded original battery — voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the fuel gauge still shows 20–30%. The phone interprets this as a fault and shuts down to protect the cell. A new cell with lower internal resistance removes the sag and eliminates the false cutoff.
Battery percentage jumping or reading incorrectly after the swap
The ZenFone Live L1 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge estimate from the discharge curve of the original cell. After a swap, that calibration data no longer matches the new cell's chemistry profile. The result is erratic percentage readings — jumps of 5–15% in either direction, or a sudden drop to 1% from 40%. Run one uninterrupted full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle gives the fuel gauge IC enough data to recalibrate against the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ZenFone Live L1 won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead too?
The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V per cell during extended storage — a protection trip, not a dead battery. Plug the phone into a wall charger using the original cable and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage recovers enough for the BMS to release the lockout. If the screen shows a charging indicator after that window, the cell is fine and normal startup will follow.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I tried it after fitting the replacement — what happened?
The USB-PD or proprietary fast charge protocol on the ZenFone Live L1 requires the BMS to confirm cell state before the charge IC steps up current. On the first cycle with a new cell, the fuel gauge IC has no stored discharge history, so it defaults the BMS to standard 5V charging as a precaution. Complete one full charge to 100% at standard rate, then disconnect and let the phone sit for two minutes before reconnecting. Fast charge should be accepted on the second cycle once the BMS has a confirmed full-charge reference point.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery area while charging the new cell — is that normal?
A new Li-Polymer cell typically has slightly higher impedance on the first few charge cycles compared to a cell that has been conditioned. The charge IC pushes the same current into a higher-impedance cell, and the extra energy dissipates as heat. This is most pronounced during the first two or three charges and reduces as the cell conditions. If the back of the phone becomes uncomfortable to hold or charging pauses and resumes repeatedly, drop to a 5W standard charger for the first full cycle and check that the USB port and cable are not adding resistance to the circuit.
