Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo Z6 Youth / Z6 Lite — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL297)
This is a 3950mAh (15.21Wh) Li-Polymer cell replacing the OEM BL297 battery in the Lenovo Z6 Youth and Z6 Lite smartphones. It runs the same 3.85V nominal voltage as the original and connects via the stock flex connector with no modification. Use this when the original cell no longer holds charge, shuts down unexpectedly, or won't power the phone past a low percentage.
- Z6 Youth and Z6 Lite compatibility: Both handsets share the BL297 cell format, the same connector pinout, and the same charge IC on the board. One replacement cell covers both models without any wiring change.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the BL297 replacement through charge and discharge cycles on the bench. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake correctly, and the cell held voltage without sag or cutoff at normal draw levels.
- First-cycle fast charge caution: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for the first full discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on the Z6 Youth calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve. Running a high-current fast charge into an uncalibrated cell can skew percentage readings for the life of the battery.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Z6 Youth after cell replacement
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell has a different voltage-to-capacity slope, so the IC underestimates remaining charge and triggers a low-voltage shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The modem and display together pull enough current to collapse the cell voltage below the protection threshold faster than the gauge predicts. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the coulomb counter resets against the new curve after that cycle.
USB fast charge not activating on the first cycle after fitting the BL297
On the first charge after a cell swap, the charge IC may stay in trickle-charge mode rather than stepping up to fast charge. This is a safety behaviour — the IC doesn't know the new cell's state of health yet and holds current low until it confirms the cell is stable. It is not a fault with the replacement battery. Charge once at standard speed to full, then disconnect and reconnect the charger — fast charge negotiation should engage normally from the second cycle onward.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Lenovo Z6 Youth show the wrong battery percentage after I replaced the BL297 cell?
The fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the old cell — the new cell has a different internal impedance and voltage slope, so the percentage reading drifts. This is a coulomb counter calibration issue, not a fault with the replacement. Let the phone discharge fully until it shuts itself off, then charge in one uninterrupted session to 100%. After that full cycle, the IC recalibrates and percentage accuracy returns.
My Z6 Youth gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacement — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during charging than a broken-in one because the charge IC pushes current into a cell with higher internal resistance than it was tuned for. The warmth should reduce after two or three full cycles as the cell's resistance settles. If the phone stays hot past the first three cycles or the charge IC cuts off early, check that the flex connector is fully seated — a partially connected cell forces the IC to work harder. Normal operating temperature should return by cycle four at the latest.
My Z6 Youth won't power on after the BL297 replacement sat in storage for a few months — what's happening?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS has locked out the cell to prevent damage. The phone won't respond to a normal boot press or standard charging. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on — the charge IC runs a slow recovery current to bring the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold. Once the cell reaches around 3.0V, the BMS re-initialises and normal charging resumes.
