Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Atrack AK7 GPS Tracker — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (N068413)

This 3.7V, 600mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original N068413 battery in the Atrack AK7 GPS tracker. The AK7 is a compact real-time location tracking device used in field operations. When the original cell degrades, the tracker loses the ability to hold charge through a full session — this replacement restores that.

  • AK7 GPS tracker fit: The AK7 uses a single Li-Polymer cell at 3.7V with a low-current draw profile suited to GPS receiver circuits. The N068413 cell matches the voltage rail and physical envelope the device expects — 42.62 × 26.30 × 4.60mm — so it seats correctly against the BMS contacts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles against the AK7's BMS. The protection circuit handled low-voltage cutoff correctly and did not trip on normal GPS receiver current draw.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the AK7 fully on outdoors before use. The device performs a cold start after any full power interruption — allow 5–10 minutes for the first satellite fix in open sky. Subsequent warm starts resolve in under a minute.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery in the AK7

As the N068413 cell approaches its low-voltage threshold, the AK7 reduces power to the GPS receiver to extend operation. This lowers receiver sensitivity, which degrades position accuracy — particularly in urban canyons or under tree cover where signal is already marginal. The tracker may still show a fix, but the reported position can drift by tens of metres. Keep the cell above 3.5V during active tracking sessions to maintain full receiver sensitivity.

AK7 shuts off without warning before the battery indicator shows empty

A worn original cell has lower internal capacity than its rated spec, so the terminal voltage collapses faster under load than the indicator expects. The AK7 reads voltage to estimate charge level — if that voltage drops sharply under GPS receiver load, the BMS hits its cutoff threshold before the on-screen indicator reaches zero. After fitting a new N068413 cell, run two full charge-discharge cycles so the device recalibrates its voltage-to-capacity curve. If early shutoff persists, check that the charging source is delivering a full 4.2V at end of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Atrack AK7 lost all saved routes and POIs after I swapped the battery — where did they go?

Some AK7 data is held in battery-backed RAM, which loses state the moment the cell is fully removed. If saved routes or points of interest are gone after a battery swap, that data was stored in volatile memory rather than flash. Re-enter critical routes before removing the old cell, or back them up via the device's sync software if available. This is a one-time loss — once the new cell is installed and charged, the device retains new data normally.

The AK7 is taking much longer to get a satellite fix after I replaced the battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Any full power interruption clears the GPS receiver's cached almanac and ephemeris data, forcing a cold start. A cold start in open sky takes 5–10 minutes for the first fix — this is normal receiver behaviour, not a fault with the replacement cell. After that first fix, the AK7 rebuilds its satellite data cache and subsequent warm starts resolve in under a minute. Move outdoors with a clear view of the sky and let it run until the fix confirms.

The AK7 drains noticeably faster when actively navigating compared to just sitting in standby — is the new battery faulty?

The new cell is not faulty — this is expected behaviour from the AK7's power draw profile. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver continuously and keeps the display active, which draws significantly more current than standby mode where the receiver duty-cycles. A 600mAh cell at that draw will deplete faster than it would sitting idle. If drain feels excessive even compared to the original battery in good condition, confirm the display brightness is not set to maximum and that no background sync is running during navigation sessions.
