Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Audioline BabySense 5 Video / Watch & Care V120–V131 — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (494521P)
This 3.7V 1400mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original power cell in the Audioline BabySense 5 Video parent unit and the Watch & Care V120, V130, and V131 series. It matches OEM part numbers 494521P and BPCK1500LI. Capacity is rated at 1400mAh / 5.18Wh — the same spec as the factory-fitted cell.
- BabySense 5 Video and Watch & Care V120–V131 compatibility: These parent units share the same PCB layout, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell covers the entire range. The 3.7V nominal rail and Li-Polymer flat-pack form factor (61.20 × 43.50 × 6.00mm) are consistent across all listed models.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a BabySense 5 Video parent unit. The BMS accepted the charge curve without tripping a fault flag, and the unit powered on cleanly. Cell voltage at full charge settled at 4.18V — within the expected Li-Polymer ceiling.
- Re-pairing after installation: After replacing the battery, place the parent unit within one metre of the camera unit and follow the manual pairing sequence. Baby monitors lose their stored wireless link when the parent unit is fully powered down — this is normal behaviour, not a fault with the new cell.
Why the BabySense 5 Video parent unit drains overnight with the screen on
Running the parent unit display continuously through the night is a sustained high draw on a 1400mAh cell. The backlit LCD and active radio link together pull enough current to exhaust the battery before morning. The Watch & Care series includes a screen timeout setting in the display menu — activating it drops average current draw significantly. Set the timeout to the shortest interval that still suits your monitoring routine.
Night vision not working after battery replacement
The IR LEDs on the camera unit are powered independently, but the parent unit's ability to switch into night vision mode depends on the radio link being stable — and that link is voltage-sensitive on the parent side. If the replacement cell has not been fully charged before first use, the parent unit may not transmit the mode-switch command reliably. Charge the parent unit to 4.18V (full green indicator) before testing night vision. If the issue persists after a full charge, re-pair the units as the camera may have dropped its pairing entry during the power interruption.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BabySense 5 Video parent unit won't connect to the camera unit after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?
When the parent unit loses power completely during a battery swap, it clears its stored wireless pairing. This is expected behaviour — the new cell is not the cause. Place the parent unit within one metre of the camera unit, then run the manual pairing sequence from the menu (hold the pair button on the camera until the indicator flashes). The link re-establishes in under 30 seconds on a fully charged cell.
The signal range on my Watch & Care V130 dropped after fitting the replacement battery — is the new cell faulty?
Range reduction directly after a swap almost always means the cell hasn't reached full charge yet. The radio transmitter in the parent unit is voltage-sensitive — at 3.5V or below, output power steps down and effective range shrinks noticeably. Charge the parent unit fully until the indicator shows 100%, then retest range. If range is still short after a confirmed full charge, check that no large metal objects or thick concrete walls have been introduced between the units.
The parent unit screen on my Watch & Care V120 shows a battery icon but the unit shuts off seconds after unplugging from charge — why?
This usually means the old cell had degraded so far that the BMS logged an abnormally low minimum voltage, and the replacement cell needs a conditioning charge to reset that baseline. Leave the parent unit plugged in for a full uninterrupted charge cycle — do not power it on mid-charge. Once the charge indicator shows full, disconnect and power on. If the unit still shuts off immediately, check the connector on the replacement cell is fully seated — a partially engaged connector causes voltage drop under load that trips the protection circuit.
