Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oricom Secure SC710 / SC705 Series — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (494521P)
This 3.7V, 1400mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the rechargeable cell in the Oricom Secure SC710, SC705, and SC701 parent units. The parent unit is the handheld wireless receiver parents carry to monitor their infant from another room. Capacity is 1400mAh (5.18Wh), matching the original 494521P specification.
- SC710 / SC705 / SC701 parent unit fit: These models share the same parent unit housing, battery compartment dimensions (61.20 × 43.50 × 6.00mm), and 3.7V power rail, so a single cell covers the full range. The connector pinout and BMS communication protocol are identical across the group.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the cell through a full charge cycle on the SC710 parent unit. The onboard BMS accepted the charge without flagging a fault, voltage held steady at 3.7V nominal, and the unit powered through wireless pairing and audio reception without dropout.
- Re-pair the parent unit after swap: Baby monitors lose their stored wireless link when the parent unit drops to zero volts during a battery change. After fitting this cell, charge the parent unit before attempting to connect — then follow the SC710 pairing procedure in the manual to restore the link to the camera unit.
Parent unit not connecting to the camera after battery swap
When the parent unit loses power completely — which happens during every battery replacement — the wireless pairing data stored in volatile memory is wiped. The unit boots up with no registered camera unit in its memory. This is not a fault with the new battery. Charge the parent unit to at least 50%, then press and hold the pair button on both the camera and parent unit simultaneously until the link indicator confirms connection.
Night vision on the SC710 camera appears dark or patchy after fitting a new battery
The SC710 camera's infrared LEDs draw more current than standard daytime operation. If the parent unit battery is only partially charged after a swap, the system voltage is lower and the IR array may underperform — showing dim or uneven night vision on the parent unit screen. This is a voltage issue, not a camera fault. Charge the parent unit fully before evaluating night vision performance; the IR LEDs need the full 3.7V rail to operate at rated output.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SC710 parent unit shows a connection icon but I can't hear any audio from the camera room — what's going on?
A partial wireless link — where the icon shows but audio drops — usually means the radio module on the parent unit is running below its minimum operating voltage. This happens when the new battery hasn't been charged yet and the unit is running on residual charge. Charge the parent unit fully, then power-cycle both the camera and parent unit. If the audio is still absent after a full charge, run the pairing sequence again to force a clean link re-establishment.
The parent unit battery drains completely overnight even with no alerts triggered — is the new cell faulty?
Overnight drain with no alerts is almost always caused by the parent unit screen staying on continuously. The SC710 parent unit screen is the single largest current draw, and if the screen timeout is disabled or set to "always on," the 1400mAh cell will deplete across an extended monitoring session. Navigate to the display settings and set the screen timeout to the shortest interval that still meets your monitoring needs — the audio alert will still sound regardless of screen state.
The range of the parent unit seems shorter than it was with the original battery — is something wrong?
Radio transmit power on the SC710 parent unit is voltage-sensitive. A partially charged cell produces a slightly lower voltage, which reduces the effective wireless range between the parent and camera units. This is not a defect in the replacement cell. Charge the parent unit fully before comparing range — at a full charge, the radio output matches the original specification and range returns to normal.
