Fits Philips Avent SCD720/86, SCD730/86, SCD560/10, SCD570-H parent units; replaces OEM part PHRHC152M000.
2.4V, 1500mAh Ni-MH delivers sustained power for wireless audio monitoring without audio dropout or signal loss.
Connector slides into the battery slot on the parent unit's rear panel; no locking tab, seat fully until it clicks.
We bench-tested the pack across a full charge cycle; the Ni-MH BMS held voltage stable through standby and active transmission modes.
After inserting this battery, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit — power loss breaks the wireless link and requires manual reconnection.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Avent SCD720/86 — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (PHRHC152M000)

This is a 2.4V, 1500mAh Ni-MH battery for the parent unit of the Philips Avent SCD720 and SCD730 series baby monitors. It also fits the SCD560/10 and SCD570-H parent units. When the original cell loses capacity, the parent unit can no longer hold a charge away from the base — this battery restores that wireless range.

  • SCD720, SCD730, SCD560, SCD570 parent units: These models share the same 2.4V Ni-MH cell format, connector pinout, and charge circuit in the parent handset. One battery covers the whole family of Avent DECT monitors listed above.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the SCD720 parent unit's charge cycle and confirmed the charge circuit accepted it without error flags. The BMS held the termination voltage correctly at end-of-charge.
  • Post-swap re-pair requirement: After fitting this battery, re-pair the parent unit with the camera unit before use. Avent DECT monitors drop their wireless link when the parent unit loses power completely — the re-pair process takes under two minutes using the DECT button on the camera base.

Why the SCD720 parent unit drains overnight with the screen on

Running the parent unit with the screen active all night is sustained high draw on a 1500mAh Ni-MH cell. Ni-MH chemistry also has higher self-discharge than lithium, which compounds the drain during long standby periods. The SCD720 has a screen timeout setting in the menu — activating it cuts display draw significantly. Set the timeout to the shortest interval you're comfortable with to extend the charge cycle between top-ups.

Parent unit shows reduced range immediately after battery swap

The DECT radio in the parent unit is voltage-sensitive — a partially charged cell delivers lower transmit power, which shortens effective range straight out of the box. This is not a fault with the battery or the unit. Charge the parent unit fully on the base before first use away from it. A full charge brings the cell to approximately 2.8V open circuit, at which point the radio operates at rated output.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SCD720 parent unit won't connect to the camera after I fitted the new battery — what's wrong?

Avent DECT monitors clear their wireless link when the parent unit loses power completely, which happens during a battery swap. This is normal behaviour, not a fault with the battery or the camera unit. Press and hold the DECT pairing button on the camera base until the parent unit confirms the link. The re-pair process takes under two minutes.

The night vision on the camera stopped working after I replaced the parent unit battery — is the battery the cause?

The IR LEDs on the camera unit run independently of the parent unit battery, so the battery swap itself didn't cause this. However, if the parent unit cell is not yet fully charged, the display can misread the video feed at low brightness levels, making the night vision appear absent. Charge the parent unit fully on its base first, then check the night mode setting in the menu — it sometimes resets to off after a full power-down.

The parent unit battery drains much faster than the original did — is the new cell faulty?

Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need two to three full charge cycles before reaching rated capacity. If the unit feels like it's draining fast in the first few days, that is normal conditioning behaviour, not a defect. Run the parent unit off the base until the low-battery indicator triggers, then charge it fully on the base — repeat this two more times. After three full cycles, capacity should stabilise at the rated 1500mAh.
