Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Baracoda RoadRunners Evolution 1D — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (B25000001)
This 3.7V 2400mAh lithium-ion cell replaces part number B25000001 in the Baracoda RoadRunners Evolution 1D handheld barcode scanner. It also fits the BRR-L Evolution, YYS1-1056730, and BRR-L variant models that share the same battery bay and BMS handshake. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.
- RoadRunners Evolution and BRR-L platform fit: These models share a common battery footprint, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — the dock recognises the pack and reports charge state correctly without any firmware workaround.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the RoadRunners Evolution platform. The BMS held cutoff thresholds at both ends of the voltage curve and the cradle showed no charging error flags during any cycle.
- First-shift installation tip: After fitting the new pack, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before starting pick-and-pack operations. The scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum charge — a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first scan burst of the shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a freshly installed pack
A new cell shipped at storage charge — typically 3.6–3.7V — not full charge. Some RoadRunners cradles flag this as a fault because the dock expects a pack above a minimum acceptance threshold before initiating the charge curve. The fix is to check the gold contacts on both the battery and the dock for oxidation or debris — even slight contact resistance can trigger the error. Wipe the contacts with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the cradle should begin a normal charge cycle within 30 seconds.
Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan sequence, the device draws simultaneously from the imager and the wireless radio — two inrush loads hitting the cell at the same time. If the cell voltage sags below the radio module's operating floor during that combined draw, the wireless stack drops and requires a reconnect. This happens most often when the battery is below 20% charge. Keeping the pack above 3.6V during active use prevents the voltage sag that triggers the drop.

Frequently Asked Questions
The scanner reads fine in the cradle but drops wireless connection the moment I start scanning fast on the floor — why?
The imager and the wireless radio pull current at the same time during a rapid scan burst, and the combined inrush causes a brief voltage sag in the cell. If the radio module's minimum operating voltage isn't met during that sag, it disconnects. This is most common when the battery is below 20% state of charge. Keep the pack charged above 3.6V before the shift starts and the sag stays within the radio's tolerance.
My cradle is showing a charging error light on the new battery but it charged the old one fine — what's wrong?
New packs ship at storage charge, not full charge, and some RoadRunners docks reject a pack that arrives below their acceptance threshold voltage. The first thing to check is contact resistance — wipe the gold pads on the battery and inside the dock with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack with firm pressure. If the contacts were clean and the pack is simply at storage voltage, remove it and reinsert it once; the dock should recognise it and start the charge curve within 30 seconds.
The scanner feels noticeably warm after a long picking shift — is that a battery problem or a device problem?
Sustained scanning plus continuous wireless polling generates steady current draw through a compact housing with limited airflow, so surface warmth after an extended shift is normal for this form factor. What to watch for is heat concentrated at the battery bay rather than spread across the body — that points to elevated internal resistance in the cell. Check the battery voltage immediately after the shift; if it reads below 3.5V despite starting fully charged, the cell's internal resistance has increased and it should be replaced.
