Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Datalogic Falcon X3 / X4 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (94ACC1386)

This is a 3.7V, 5200mAh Li-ion battery for the Datalogic Falcon X3, Falcon X3+, Falcon X4, and compatible variants. It replaces OEM part numbers 94ACC1386, BT-26, 4ACC0046, and BT-0016. The Falcon X3 is a rugged handheld barcode scanner used in warehouse, retail, and logistics environments for inventory and data collection tasks.

  • Falcon X3, X3+, and X4 compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V battery platform, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack works across all three variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a Falcon X3 unit through scan-burst cycles under wireless polling load. The BMS held stable across repeated trigger draws and did not trip at partial charge states.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and complete a full charge cycle before use. The scan trigger draws its highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first pick-and-pack shift.

Cradle showing charging error on a new pack

A charging error on the dock does not always mean a faulty battery. Contact resistance at the pack's charging terminals is the most common cause — dust, warehouse grime, or residue from the old battery can break the circuit between pack and cradle. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the dock with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears, the cell is charging normally.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The Falcon X3 draws simultaneously from the radio and the scan trigger during fast scan sequences. If the battery is aged or partially discharged, combined inrush from both loads can sag the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold, dropping the wireless link mid-burst. A new 5200mAh pack at full charge has enough capacity headroom to sustain both draws without voltage sag. Start each shift with the pack at or above 3.6V per cell to avoid mid-shift dropouts.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Falcon X3 stopped reading barcodes right after I put in the new battery — is the scanner broken?

The scanner is almost certainly fine. The scan engine on the Falcon X3 needs the cell above a minimum voltage threshold before the laser or imager will fire at full power, and a new pack shipped in storage state may not have enough charge to clear that threshold. Place the scanner in its cradle and complete a full charge cycle first. After charging, the scan engine should trigger normally on the first attempt.

The Falcon X3 feels noticeably warm after a long shift with this battery — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected. The Falcon X3 housing is compact, and sustained combined load from the wireless radio, scan trigger, and display builds heat inside the unit over an extended shift. The pack itself generates minor heat under continuous draw, but if the housing is hot to the touch — not just warm — check that the cradle ventilation slots are clear and that the scanner is not being stored in a sealed pouch between scans. Ambient airflow during rest periods is enough to keep temperatures in the normal range.

My Falcon X3 used to last a full shift but now dies hours earlier with the same scanning workload — what changed?

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval are the two biggest contributors to capacity drain on the Falcon X3. If the wireless network was recently reconfigured to a shorter polling interval, or if the scan volume per hour increased, the effective draw on the pack is higher even though nothing about the battery changed. Check the wireless polling setting in the device configuration and compare it to the previous setup. Reducing unnecessary background polling can recover a significant portion of shift endurance without any hardware change.
