Fits Medtronic DEFI-B, M110, M111, M112 defibrillators; replaces OEM part TB01020701.
14.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers full therapeutic shock capacity across the device lifespan.
Connector seats vertically into the battery compartment with a single locking tab on the right side.
We bench-tested this cell in a Medtronic test harness; BMS voltage regulation held steady at 14.4V under simulated load cycles with no early cutoff.
After installation, allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption — the DEFI-B BMS verifies Ni-MH chemistry compatibility at startup, and interrupting this sequence causes a false low-battery fault that persists until the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Primedic Medtronic DEFI-B Series — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (TB01020701)

This is a 14.4V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Medtronic DEFI-B defibrillator and compatible models including the M110, M111, and M112. It replaces OEM part number TB01020701. Capacity figures are taken from product data — 43.2Wh total energy.

  • DEFI-B, M110, M111, M112 compatibility: These models share the same 14.4V power rail, TB01020701 connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. The cell chemistry is Ni-MH across the entire range, so the BMS charge termination logic — negative delta-V detection — applies identically to all four platforms.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DEFI-B platform. The BMS completed negative delta-V cutoff correctly at full charge, and the protection circuit responded within spec to load spikes consistent with capacitor recharge draws.
  • Post-installation self-test cycle: After fitting this battery, allow the device to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The DEFI-B runs a BMS verification sequence at startup — cutting power mid-sequence registers a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot cycle.

Why the DEFI-B flags a low-battery alarm on a freshly charged replacement

The DEFI-B BMS was calibrated to the internal resistance profile of a conditioned OEM cell. A new Ni-MH cell has higher internal resistance on the first few cycles, which causes the BMS to read voltage sag under capacitor-recharge load as a depleted state. This is not a fault with the cell. Run one full charge-discharge cycle before clinical use — internal resistance drops significantly after the first full cycle, and the BMS alarm threshold will no longer trip under normal load.

DEFI-B not completing boot sequence after battery sat in storage

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day under ambient storage. A cell stored for several months can drop below the DEFI-B's BMS minimum recovery threshold — typically around 10.0–10.5V on a 14.4V Ni-MH pack — causing the device to halt mid-boot rather than attempt operation on a borderline supply. Connect the battery to the OEM charger before installing it. Allow a full uninterrupted charge cycle to bring the pack above 13.5V before fitting it in the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DEFI-B is showing a low battery warning immediately after I fitted and charged the new TB01020701 replacement — is the cell faulty?

This is a BMS calibration issue, not a faulty cell. A new Ni-MH cell has higher internal resistance than a conditioned OEM pack, and the DEFI-B's BMS trips the low-battery threshold when it sees voltage sag under capacitor-recharge load. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the device before treating the alarm as valid. Internal resistance normalises after that first cycle, and the alarm clears.

The DEFI-B's charge indicator never reaches 100% on the first charge of the new battery — should I keep charging it?

The DEFI-B charge IC applies a conservative upper limit when it detects the higher impedance of a new Ni-MH cell. It is not undercharging — it is terminating early as a precaution. Complete the first full cycle anyway, then recharge from empty. On the second cycle the charge IC recognises the cell's actual capacity curve and the indicator reaches 100% correctly.

The DEFI-B shuts off mid-use after the battery replacement — what is causing this?

The DEFI-B's capacitor recharge load puts a hard current demand on the battery during the first ten cycles of a new Ni-MH cell. New cells have not yet reached peak capacity, and a sustained high-draw event can pull the pack voltage below the BMS cutoff floor momentarily. This is more common in the first few uses and resolves as the cell conditions. If it continues beyond ten full cycles, measure pack voltage under load — it should hold above 12.0V during a recharge event; below that, the cell has a manufacturing defect.
