Fits Bird SC01 and C01 smartphones, replacing the original 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
3.7V at 850mAh delivers the voltage and capacity this phone requires for normal operation.
Connector seats into the factory slot with standard smartphone battery contacts — no adapter needed.
We ran this cell through five full discharge-charge cycles on an SC01; the BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bird SC01 / C01 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 850mAh Li-ion cell for the Bird SC01 and C01 smartphones. It fits both models directly and restores power when the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and capacity match the original spec — 3.7V nominal, 850mAh (3.15Wh).

  • SC01 and C01 compatibility: Both models run the same voltage rail and share the same connector pinout and BMS handshake, which is why a single cell covers both. Swapping between them needs no wiring change or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, monitoring BMS cutoff thresholds at both ends. The protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage cutoff and accepted a full charge without thermal events.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its readings against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Bird SC01 after a cell swap

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point that the IC reads as 20–30%, the actual cell voltage under modem or screen load drops sharply — faster than the IC expects. The phone interprets this as a fault and shuts down to protect the hardware. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging resets the coulomb counter and clears this behaviour.

Phone warm near the battery during the first charge after replacement

A new cell typically has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. During the first charge, the charge IC pushes current into a cell with more resistance than it was calibrated to expect, which produces mild heat. This is normal on cycle one and reduces after the cell's impedance settles. If warmth persists past the second charge cycle, check that the charge IC is not locked into a high-current profile — drop to a 5W standard charger and verify the temperature drops.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Bird SC01 report 25% battery and then shut off without warning?

The fuel gauge IC calibrated itself to the old cell's discharge curve, so its percentage readings no longer match the new cell's actual voltage behaviour. Under load — screen on, modem active — the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, hitting the hardware shutdown threshold before the gauge reaches zero. Run one full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After that single cycle the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve and the shutdowns stop.

My Bird SC01 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Most likely the BMS has locked out because the cell drained below 2.5V during storage, triggering the low-voltage protection cutoff. The phone won't respond to the power button because the BMS is blocking output to prevent cell damage. Plug into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the 2.5V threshold, the BMS unlocks, and the phone boots normally.

Fast charging stopped working on my Bird SC01 right after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS handshake with the charge IC can fail to negotiate a fast-charge profile because the cell's impedance signature is unfamiliar. The phone falls back to standard 5W charging as a precaution. Complete one full standard charge-discharge cycle first — this lets the charge IC learn the new cell's response before attempting a high-current handshake. After that cycle, reconnect a fast charger and the protocol negotiation should complete at the correct current level.
