Fits Bird SC04 smartphone; replaces the original 3.7V Li-ion cell in this model.
3.7V and 900mAh capacity restores full talk and standby time on the SC04.
Connector slides straight in; locking tab seats flush against the battery compartment wall.
We ran the cell through three full discharge cycles on the SC04; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bird SC04 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 900mAh (3.33Wh), built to replace the original power cell in the Bird SC04 smartphone. It fits directly into the SC04 and restores basic phone functions — calls, messaging, and apps — when the original cell has degraded or failed. Voltage and capacity match the factory specification for this handset.

  • SC04 platform fit: The Bird SC04 uses a low-voltage 3.7V single-cell Li-ion configuration with a compact 900mAh capacity. The charge IC and fuel gauge IC on the SC04 mainboard are calibrated to this voltage window. Swapping to a cell outside that specification causes charge termination errors or inaccurate percentage readings.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge sequences, confirmed BMS cutoff triggers at the correct low-voltage threshold, and verified that the charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags on the first cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The SC04 fuel gauge IC reads a stored discharge curve from the old cell — letting it run one full unassisted cycle against the new cell teaches it the actual voltage curve before high-current charging is applied.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

The Bird SC04 fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve model built from the old cell's behaviour. When you install a new cell, that model is stale — the IC predicts voltage based on data that no longer matches. Under load from the modem or display, the new cell's actual voltage drops below what the IC expects at that percentage, triggering an emergency shutdown. Run one full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging early. After that cycle, the fuel gauge recalibrates its model against the new cell and the premature cutoff stops.

SC04 not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If a replacement cell has been stored for several months before installation, its resting voltage may have dropped below 2.5V — the threshold where the BMS engages a lockout to prevent damage. The SC04 will show nothing when you press the power button, and a standard charger plug may not wake it. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing anything; most BMS circuits accept a trickle current at this stage and will release the lockout once the cell climbs back above 2.8V, after which the phone boots normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Bird SC04 shows 25% battery and then just shuts off with no warning — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is most likely fine. The SC04's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the new cell's voltage under modem and screen load and triggers a shutdown before the real charge is gone. Run one full cycle — drain it to automatic shutdown, then charge straight to 100% without interrupting. After that single cycle the fuel gauge recalibrates and the early shutdowns stop.

The Bird SC04 battery percentage jumps around erratically after I installed this cell — sometimes it goes up without charging.

Erratic percentage readings are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a cell defect. The coulomb counter on the SC04 mainboard is still referencing data from the old cell and has not yet mapped the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. One complete uninterrupted discharge-to-charge cycle is enough to give the IC the data it needs. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise and track correctly.

Fast charging stopped working on my SC04 after I swapped the battery — the phone only slow-charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the SC04 charge IC can decline to enter fast-charge mode because the BMS on the new cell has not yet exchanged a full handshake with the phone's charge controller. This is a protective default, not a fault. Charge the phone once at standard speed through a full cycle to 100%, then unplug and reconnect — the fast-charge protocol should re-engage on the second charge session once the IC has logged a verified cycle from the new cell.
