Fits Sagem MYC-3, MYC-3b, MYC3-2, and MYC32 models, replacing OEM part 287024051 and 252136780.
This 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion cell restores full capacity to aging Sagem candybar phones that no longer hold charge.
Connector slides straight into the original battery slot with no adapter or modification required for secure fit.
We bench-tested the cell on a MYC-3 motherboard; the BMS initialized without fault codes and held steady voltage under idle load.
On first installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle before heavy use — the fuel gauge IC needs to calibrate against the new cell's discharge curve to prevent false low-battery shutdowns.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sagem MYC-3 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (287024051)

This is a 3.7V 900mAh Li-ion cell for the Sagem MYC-3 family of compact GSM candybar phones. It fits the MYC-3, MYC-3b, MYC3-2, and MYC32. Capacity matches the original OEM specification at 3.33Wh.

  • MYC-3 family compatibility: The MYC-3, MYC-3b, MYC3-2, and MYC32 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. One cell fits all four variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the MYC-3 platform. The BMS held charge cutoff at 4.2V and low-voltage cutoff engaged correctly before cell damage threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable any fast-charge adapter and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before accepting higher charge current into an uncalibrated cell.

Why the MYC-3 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The MYC-3 uses a fuel gauge IC that stores a charge curve calibrated to the original cell. When you fit a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches actual cell behaviour. The IC reads voltage and estimates state-of-charge against outdated data, so the percentage shown on screen drifts from reality. One full discharge down to auto-shutoff followed by a complete charge resets the reference points the IC uses for calculation.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the GSM modem fires a high-current transmit burst and cell voltage collapses faster than the fuel gauge IC expects. The phone's protection circuit reads the voltage drop as a critical low and cuts power immediately. It is a calibration gap, not a faulty cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and confirm the cell stays above 3.6V under screen-on load before flagging a fault.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phone powers on but shuts off randomly when making a call — new battery, maybe 10% showing on screen

That is a voltage cliff under GSM transmit load. The modem draws a sharp current spike during a call, and if the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell curve, it cuts power the moment voltage sags below its threshold. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate so the IC recalibrates to the new cell. After that, the phone should hold above 3.6V during transmit and stop cutting out.

Battery percentage jumps around erratically — goes from 40% to 15% then back up without charging

The fuel gauge IC on the MYC-3 is still reading state-of-charge against the discharge profile of the old, degraded cell. A new cell has a different impedance and a steeper voltage-capacity curve at low states of charge, so the IC misreads the jumps as large swings in percentage. One complete discharge to auto-shutoff followed by a full charge at standard rate resets the coulomb counter reference. Erratic readings typically stabilise within two cycles.

Phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before fitting

A Li-ion cell left unused self-discharges over time. If the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell during storage, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage and will not pass current to the phone. Connect the phone to a low-current charger — a standard 5V USB wall adapter, not a fast charger — and leave it for 30–60 minutes without pressing the power button. The BMS needs a trickle charge to recover voltage above its reinitialisation threshold before normal charging can begin.
