Fits BK Precision 2510 and 2512 oscilloscopes; replaces OEM part BP5210.
7.4V 4700mAh Li-Polymer pack delivers full runtime for field measurement sessions without mid-job shutdowns.
Slides into battery slot with single locking tab; connector orientation keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested against a 2510 under sustained probe load; BMS held steady through 40-minute logging without dropout.
On first install, run full calibration through the instrument menu before field deployment — the 2510 maps battery voltage during calibration, and skipping this step triggers premature low-battery warnings on the first measurement session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BK Precision 2510 / 2512 Oscilloscopes — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BP5210)

This 7.4V 4700mAh (34.78Wh) lithium-polymer pack replaces the BP5210 battery in BK Precision 2510 and 2512 portable digital oscilloscopes. These instruments run field diagnostics and circuit troubleshooting away from AC power, so a degraded cell directly interrupts measurement work. Replacing the pack restores full portable operating capacity to the oscilloscope.

  • 2510 and 2512 platform fit: Both models share the same 7.4V two-cell Li-Polymer architecture, identical connector pinout, and the same BMS handshake protocol — a single replacement pack covers both. The BMS communicates state-of-charge to the oscilloscope firmware over the same data line, so the instrument reads the new pack without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the 2510's probe initialisation sequence, which pulls a brief current spike when active probes power up. The BMS handled the inrush without tripping into protection mode and maintained stable voltage through sustained signal-acquisition loads.
  • Post-install calibration cycle: After fitting this pack, run a full calibration cycle through the 2510's instrument menu before field deployment. The oscilloscope maps battery state during that sequence — skipping it causes premature low-battery warnings in the first measurement session, even when the pack is fully charged.

BMS lockout after the 2510 sat unused in a carry case for months

Li-Polymer cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If the 2510 sat long enough, the pack voltage can drop below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the BMS enters a latched protection state. In that state the oscilloscope shows no charge activity and may not power on at all. Connect the instrument to its charger and leave it untouched for 30–60 minutes; many BMS circuits require a trickle-charge stimulus at the charger's recovery voltage before they exit lockout and accept a normal charge cycle.

Oscilloscope shuts down mid-measurement with no low-battery warning

This is a voltage-sag cutoff, not a capacity problem. Under sustained acquisition load — especially with active probes drawing current simultaneously — an aged or partially discharged cell can sag below the BMS undervoltage trip point faster than the fuel gauge updates the display. The instrument cuts power to protect the cells before the low-battery indicator triggers. If this happens on a new pack, verify the post-install calibration cycle was completed; without it, the instrument's voltage-threshold map is offset from the actual cell curve, and the BMS trip appears earlier than it should.

Frequently Asked Questions

The 2510 powers on but shuts off as soon as I connect an active probe — why?

Active probes draw a short current spike at power-up, and if the BMS undervoltage threshold is set conservatively, that inrush is enough to trip the protection circuit even on a charged pack. We ran this exact sequence on the bench — the BP5210 replacement handled the spike without cutting out. If you are seeing this on the original pack, the cells are likely sagging under the inrush load rather than holding the rated voltage. Fit the replacement and run the instrument's calibration cycle before reconnecting the probe.

The 2510 keeps resetting its battery percentage to a different number every time I reboot — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the pack itself. The oscilloscope's voltage-threshold indicator is recalibrating its internal map to the new cell's discharge curve, and until a full charge-and-use cycle completes, the resting voltage at power-on reads differently each time. Run the battery down through normal use to below 20 percent, then charge fully to 100 percent without interruption — after one complete cycle the percentage display stabilises and tracks accurately.

The 2510 shuts down during USB data transfer to a PC even though the battery showed 60 percent — what causes that?

USB data transfer adds a combined draw on top of active display and probe power, and the total load pulls more current than the oscilloscope draws during a standard measurement. That extra draw causes a brief voltage dropout — enough for the BMS to trip the undervoltage cutoff — while the fuel gauge still shows the pre-transfer percentage. Charge the pack to full before any extended logging or transfer session, and avoid transferring data while the pack is below 40 percent to stay above the sag threshold under combined load.
