Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BlackView BV9000 Pro — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (U536174P)
This is a 3.8V, 3900mAh Li-Polymer cell built to fit the BlackView BV9000 Pro rugged smartphone. It replaces part number U536174P and restores power to the processor, display, and cellular radio. Capacity figure is 14.82Wh as rated on this cell.
- BV9000 Pro fitment: The BV9000 Pro uses a specific connector orientation and BMS handshake tied to the U536174P cell footprint. This replacement matches that footprint — 75.50 x 59.80 x 5.16mm — so the BMS communicates correctly with the phone's charge IC without triggering a battery authentication fault.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the BV9000 Pro platform. The BMS accepted the cell without lockout, the charge IC stepped through its CC/CV stages cleanly, and the coulomb counter initialised without throwing a calibration error on the first cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — which can cause erratic percentage readings from the start.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the BV9000 Pro after a cell swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The phone's OS reads an estimated 25% remaining, but the new cell's actual voltage under modem or screen load drops below the shutdown threshold faster than the old curve predicted. The phone cuts out to protect the SoC — not because the cell is faulty. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate gives the coulomb counter enough data to rebuild its model against the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns in this range stop.
Fast charging not working on the first cycle after replacement
On first boot with a new cell, the BV9000 Pro's charge IC may reject the USB fast-charge handshake if the BMS has not yet confirmed cell state to the charge controller. The phone defaults to standard 5V charging as a protective fallback — this is normal behaviour, not a defect. Complete one full standard charge cycle first. On the second charge, the BMS passes cell status to the charge IC and fast charging re-engages at full current.

Frequently Asked Questions
My BV9000 Pro shows 25% battery and then shuts off without warning — is the new cell bad?
The cell is not bad. The fuel gauge IC recalibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so its percentage estimate is wrong for the new cell. Under modem or display load, the new cell's voltage drops below the shutdown floor before the OS registers low battery. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge fully at standard rate — after that cycle the coulomb counter rebuilds its model against the new cell and the early shutoffs stop.
The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging after I fitted the replacement — should I be concerned?
Some warmth on the first few charges is expected. A new high-impedance Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat during the constant-current phase. Keep the phone out of a case for the first two or three charge cycles so heat can dissipate freely. If the back becomes too hot to hold comfortably past the first three cycles, check that the charge IC is not stuck in fast-charge mode — drop to standard 5V charging and monitor.
My BV9000 Pro won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — what do I do?
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below 2.5V the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a 5V charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before pressing the power button — the charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold before a normal boot sequence can start. If the charge LED does not activate within five minutes, try a different cable and verify the charger outputs at least 5V 1A before assuming a fault with the cell.
