Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Xenium S598 / CTS598 / X598 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (AB4000CWMT)
This is a 3.85V, 3900mAh lithium-polymer battery for the Philips Xenium S598, CTS598, and X598 smartphones. It replaces OEM part AB4000CWMT. If your phone shuts down unexpectedly, charges slowly, or drains faster than it used to, the original cell is likely past its service life.
- S598, CTS598, and X598 compatibility: All three model variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The AB4000CWMT part number covers the full range — no adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the S598 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error, the charge IC stepped through its CC/CV stages correctly, and fuel gauge registration completed within the first full cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes load into an uncalibrated state. Skip this step and the OS percentage readout may drift for several cycles.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Xenium S598
This is a voltage cliff failure, not a capacity problem. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks brightness, current draw spikes sharply. An aged cell cannot hold its voltage under that load — it drops below the BMS cutoff threshold even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. A fresh 3900mAh cell with lower internal resistance sustains voltage through those spikes. After fitting the replacement, run one full discharge to 0% and charge to 100% so the coulomb counter resets its floor and ceiling against the new cell's actual voltage curve.
USB fast charge not working after fitting the replacement cell
The Xenium S598's charge IC performs a BMS handshake before it steps up to fast-charge current. On the first cycle with a new cell, the IC sometimes stays in trickle or standard charge mode because it hasn't yet confirmed the cell's temperature and impedance profile. This is normal behaviour — not a fault with the battery or the charger. Unplug, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect. If fast charging still doesn't engage after a full standard-rate charge cycle, check that the charge port is clean and the cable supports the required current rating.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Philips Xenium S598 shows 25% battery and then just switches off — is this a phone fault or the battery?
That's a voltage cliff caused by the old cell's high internal resistance. Under modem or screen load, the cell can't hold voltage above the BMS cutoff, so the phone shuts down even though the fuel gauge hasn't hit zero. A new 3900mAh cell with lower internal resistance sustains voltage through those draw spikes. After fitting the replacement, run one full discharge to 0% and a full charge to 100% to reset the coulomb counter.
The battery percentage on my S598 jumps around after I put in the new battery — it went from 60% to 41% in two minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When it reads an unfamiliar voltage-to-capacity relationship on the new cell, the percentage output becomes erratic. One complete discharge-to-zero followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to relearn the curve. After that cycle, percentage readouts stabilise. Do not interrupt the charge during that first calibration cycle.
My S598 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Li-polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell dropped below 2.5V per cell, the BMS locks out to prevent damage — the phone won't power on and the charge IC may not respond immediately. Connect the phone to a wall charger (not a PC port) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9–3.0V, at which point the BMS unlocks and normal charging resumes.
