Fits BLU Bar Q smartphone; replaces OEM battery N5B80T.
This cell supplies 3.7V at 900mAh capacity using Li-ion chemistry for calls, messaging, and apps.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with no locking tab; polarity marked on the housing.
We bench-tested the N5B80T against the original discharge curve — BMS accepted charge within two cycles, no early cutoff observed.
On first use, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU Bar Q — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (N5B80T)

This is a 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the BLU Bar Q mobile phone. It carries OEM part number N5B80T and fits the Bar Q directly. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge through a normal day of calls and messaging.

  • Bar Q compatibility: The Bar Q uses a low-voltage 3.7V single-cell pack with a specific connector pitch and BMS handshake tied to the N5B80T part. Swapping to any other cell risks a BMS rejection at the charge IC, preventing the phone from accepting current at all.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the N5B80T through charge cycles on a Bar Q unit and monitored BMS communication throughout. The protection circuit engaged correctly at both low-voltage cutoff and over-current thresholds. No false rejection from the phone's charge IC was observed.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use after fitting this cell, disable any fast-charging mode and complete one full discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on the Bar Q is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one uninterrupted cycle lets the coulomb counter reset against the new cell before reporting accurate percentages.

Why the Bar Q reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Bar Q uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge model from the previous cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual chemistry. The IC will over- or under-report state of charge until it has seen at least one complete cycle from 100% down to auto-shutoff and back to full. After that cycle, the percentage readout stabilises against the new cell's actual capacity.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC still holds the old cell's voltage-to-capacity map and the new cell hits a steeper voltage cliff under load. When the modem fires during a call or data burst, current draw spikes and cell voltage drops sharply — faster than the IC predicts. The phone's hardware protection reads that as an imminent under-voltage event and cuts power before the display shows 0%. Complete one full discharge cycle to let the coulomb counter recalibrate, and target a resting cell voltage of around 3.85V before the next full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BLU Bar Q won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?

Most likely the cell dropped below 2.5V in storage and the BMS locked out to prevent damage. The phone won't power on from a locked-out cell even if you hold the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for at least 20 minutes without pressing anything. If the charge IC detects even a trickle of recovery current, it will release the BMS lock and the phone will show a charging screen.

The Bar Q feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

Some warmth on the first few charges is expected. A new high-impedance cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat during the constant-current phase. It should stay below uncomfortable-to-touch. If the back gets hot enough to make you pull the charger, check that the charger output matches the Bar Q's rated input — an over-voltage adapter will push excess current into an uncalibrated cell and generate real heat.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the new N5B80T — the phone just charges slowly now.

The charge IC sometimes defaults to standard current on the first cycle with a new BMS it hasn't handshaked with before. This is a one-cycle reset behaviour, not a fault. Let the phone complete one full slow charge from near-empty to 100%, then unplug and restart the device. On the next charge cycle, the IC re-negotiates with the new BMS and fast charge resumes. If it still charges slowly after that, verify the cable — a damaged data line in the USB cable will block the fast-charge handshake entirely.
