Fits Praktica DMMC-10 digital camera; replaces original 3.7V lithium-ion cell when capacity drops below usable threshold.
3.7V 900mAh rated capacity delivers stable voltage during image capture and LCD display operation on this compact camera body.
Connector mates flush into camera battery compartment with standard positive-negative contact alignment; no adapter or modification required.
We bench-tested this cell on the DMMC-10 at room temperature; BMS discharged evenly and voltage held steady under continuous LCD draw.
On first use after installation, run one complete charge-discharge cycle without interrupting — the camera's fuel gauge IC needs to recalibrate against this new cell's discharge curve before normal operation resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Praktica DMMC-10 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 900mAh (3.33Wh) lithium-ion battery is a direct cell replacement for the Praktica DMMC-10 digital camera. It fits the DMMC10 variant as well. Voltage and capacity match the original specification exactly.

  • DMMC-10 and DMMC10 compatibility: Both model designations share the same battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and 3.7V nominal voltage rail. The cell dimensions — 46.20 × 34.14 × 5.68mm — match the original form factor so the battery seats without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DMMC-10 platform. The BMS accepted charge current without flagging an error, and the camera's display functions and image capture ran without unexpected cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting a new cell, run one full discharge from 100% to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before shooting. This lets the camera's fuel gauge IC map its reference curve to the new cell's actual discharge profile — without it, the percentage counter can read inaccurately from the first session.

Why the DMMC-10 shuts down suddenly at 20–30% charge remaining

An aged cell develops a steeper voltage cliff in its lower charge range. When the camera draws current for the LCD or write cycle, the cell voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold — even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. This happens because the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the old cell's curve, not the new one. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a full charge resets that calibration and eliminates most premature shutdowns.

Battery percentage jumping erratically after cell replacement

The DMMC-10's fuel gauge IC uses a coulomb counter that references stored data from the previous cell's charge curve. When a new cell with a different internal resistance profile is installed, the counter loses accuracy and the displayed percentage can jump several points between shots. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. A single full discharge-charge cycle forces the IC to rebuild its reference data against the new cell, after which percentage readout stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DMMC-10 shows 25% battery left and then dies instantly — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. What you're seeing is a voltage cliff — under load from the LCD backlight or image write cycle, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track, and the BMS trips the cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. That recalibrates the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve and removes the cliff behaviour.

The DMMC-10's battery percentage is jumping around wildly right after I fitted this replacement — what's happening?

The camera's fuel gauge IC is still referencing the charge curve it mapped to your old cell. The new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the counter loses tracking accuracy and the percentage display skips. This is a calibration issue, not a hardware fault. Do one uninterrupted full discharge followed by a full charge and the IC will recalibrate — percentage readout should stabilise from the next session onward.

The camera feels warm near the battery compartment while charging with the new cell — should I be concerned?

A new lithium-ion cell starts with slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat during the first few charge cycles. The warmth should reduce noticeably after two or three full charge cycles once the cell's impedance settles. If the compartment is hot to the touch rather than warm, stop charging and check that the battery is seated flat with no contact gap. Normal break-in warmth stays below the point where it's uncomfortable to hold the camera.
