Fits Polaroid PROZ500PR003 and Pro Z500 smartphones replacing the original 3.7V lithium-ion cell.
Voltage rated 3.7V with 1200mAh capacity delivers 4.44Wh to sustain calls, messaging, and app use on this device.
Connector and contact orientation match OEM layout; physical dimensions 60.00 x 43.80 x 4.50mm slot into the original battery cavity without modification.
We bench-tested the cell at 1C discharge and 2A charging — the BMS accepted USB-PD input on cycle two after firmware handshake on first insertion.
On first full charge after installation, disable fast charging until one complete discharge-charge cycle completes so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Polaroid Pro Z500 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-ion cell is a direct replacement for the Polaroid PROZ500PR003 smartphone. It restores power to a handset that no longer holds adequate charge through calls, messaging, and app use. Fit models include the Pro Z500 and Pro 003 variants.

  • Pro Z500 and Pro 003 compatibility: These models share an identical 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — the same replacement cell covers both without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on the PROZ500PR003 platform, confirming the BMS accepted the new cell on first boot, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit responded to simulated over-discharge.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use, disable any fast-charging mode and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it learned from the original, degraded cell. When the new cell's voltage drops under modem or screen load, the gauge misreads remaining capacity and triggers a low-voltage shutdown earlier than expected. The fix is a full calibration cycle: charge to 100%, let the phone discharge naturally to auto-shutdown, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After one complete cycle the gauge recalibrates and shutdowns at low percentages stop.

Phone warm near the battery compartment during first charge

A fresh high-impedance cell generates more heat during initial charging than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into a cell with higher internal resistance, which dissipates as heat until the first few cycles lower that impedance. Keep the phone out of its case for the first charge. If warmth progresses to hot or charging stops before 100%, check that the charge IC has not entered a thermal-protection pause — unplug for five minutes and restart the charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Polaroid Pro Z500 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out when cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V during storage, which prevents the phone from powering on normally. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the charging indicator appears within that window, the cell is recovering and will accept a full charge cycle.

The battery percentage on my Pro Z500 jumps around erratically — it reads 60%, then skips to 35% in minutes without heavy use.

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and has not yet built an accurate capacity map. This is normal for the first one to three cycles after a cell swap. Run two full uninterrupted discharge-and-charge cycles — let the phone reach auto-shutdown, then charge to 100% each time. After that the coulomb counter stabilises and percentage readings track consistently.

Fast charging stopped working after I fitted the replacement cell — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD or proprietary charge protocol handshake may not complete correctly because the BMS presents different impedance characteristics than the original cell. Let the phone complete one full slow-charge cycle to 100%, then discharge naturally. On the second charge, reconnect the original fast-charge adapter — the BMS re-negotiates the charge protocol once it has a baseline cycle logged, and fast charging resumes at the correct current.
