Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Topblue Blu V2.0 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TB-521)
This Topblue TB-521 is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 900mAh (3.33Wh), built to replace the original battery in the Blu V2.0 smartphone. It matches the factory voltage and connector footprint for the V2.0. Physical dimensions are 46.20 × 34.14 × 5.68mm — confirm these against your existing cell before ordering.
- Blu V2.0 fit: The V2.0 uses a removable 3.7V single-cell pack with a specific connector pinout tied to the phone's charge IC. This TB-521 cell matches that voltage rail and connector, so the charge IC communicates with it correctly without throwing a battery-incompatible error.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the bench. The BMS held cutoff at the expected thresholds — no premature trip on low-current draw, and the protection circuit responded correctly to over-voltage at top of charge.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before enabling it again. The fuel gauge IC in the V2.0 is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — running one unconstrained cycle lets it recalibrate against the new cell before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Blu V2.0 after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity defect. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile can sag below the phone's minimum voltage threshold at these peaks — triggering a hard shutdown even though the reported percentage looks safe. The fuel gauge IC hasn't mapped the new cell's discharge curve yet, so the percentage reading lags behind the actual cell state. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging closes the gap and stops the phantom shutdowns.
Blu V2.0 won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the TB-521 dropped below roughly 2.5V per cell while unused, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage — and the phone shows nothing when you press the power button. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a PC port, and leave it for 15–20 minutes before attempting to power on. A PC USB port may not deliver enough current to pull the cell out of BMS lockout. Once the charge IC sees sufficient voltage recovery, the BMS releases and normal charging resumes — target at least 3.0V before the phone will boot.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Blu V2.0 percentage jumps around erratically after I put in the new TB-521 — is the battery faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC in the V2.0 built its charge map around the old battery's discharge curve, and the new TB-521 has a different internal resistance profile. Until the IC recalibrates, percentage readings drift and jump. Run one complete discharge — use the phone until it shuts itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle the coulomb counter locks onto the new cell's curve and percentage readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working on my Blu V2.0 after I installed the replacement battery — it only slow charges now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes falls back to standard current limits because it hasn't confirmed the new cell's acceptance parameters. This is a handshake behaviour, not a fault. Run one full slow charge to 100%, then discharge normally and charge again — the IC re-evaluates the cell on the second cycle and fast charge protocols typically re-engage at that point. If fast charging still doesn't trigger after two full cycles, check the charging cable and adapter, as USB-PD negotiation failures are often cable-side.
My Blu V2.0 feels warm near the battery compartment while the TB-521 is charging — should I be concerned?
Some warmth on the first few charge cycles is expected with a new high-impedance cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates a little more heat as it pushes current in. If the phone is warm to the touch but not hot, this typically resolves after two or three full cycles as internal resistance drops. If the back of the phone becomes uncomfortable to hold or charging stops before reaching 100%, remove the phone from the charger and check that the battery connector is fully seated flat against the board.
