Fits BLU R1 HD smartphone; replaces OEM battery part numbers TLJ1605, TLJ16F13, TLJ1607, TPJ16G20, C675940250T.
Delivers 3.8V at 2300mAh capacity; restores full charge cycles on this budget Android device after cell degradation reduces hold time.
Connector seats flush into the R1 HD battery slot with standard locking tab; no adapter or modification needed for reinstallation.
We bench-tested this cell on the R1 HD fuel gauge IC; voltage held stable under screen and modem load, BMS accepted the new pack without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU R1 HD / Studio Touch — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLJ1605)

This 3.8V, 2300mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the BLU R1 HD, R0030UU, Studio Touch, and S0210UU smartphones. It fits directly behind the rear cover with no modification. Rated at 8.74Wh and sourced to OEM part numbers TLJ1605, TLJ16G20, and C675940250T.

  • R1 HD and Studio Touch platform fit: Both the R1 HD (R0030UU) and Studio Touch (S0210UU) run the same battery bay dimensions — 69.30 × 59.70 × 3.80mm — with identical connector pinout and BMS handshake voltage. One cell covers the full pair.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an R1 HD unit and confirmed BMS communication, charge acceptance from 0% to full, and clean cutoff at 4.35V. No thermal events. Charge IC negotiation completed normally on the second cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The phone's fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — running one slow cycle lets it map the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Why the R1 HD reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The R1 HD uses a coulomb counter that tracks charge relative to the previous cell's capacity curve. When you swap in a new cell, that baseline is gone. The IC keeps reporting against old data until it completes at least one full cycle from near-zero to full. Until that cycle finishes, displayed percentage can read 10–15% higher or lower than actual charge state. Run one full drain-to-charge cycle and the gauge resets to the new cell's curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–25% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not recalibrated and the phone hits a voltage cliff — the cell drops below the load threshold of the modem or display before the reported percentage reaches zero. The BMS cuts output to protect the cell, but the OS reads it as a crash. Charge the phone to 100% without interruption, then let it discharge fully in one session. After that cycle, the cutoff point aligns with the actual cell voltage floor near 3.4V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BLU R1 HD won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out due to deep discharge below 2.5V per cell. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, then the phone will power on normally. If the screen shows nothing after 45 minutes on a wall adapter, try a different cable before assuming cell failure.

Fast charging worked with the old battery but won't kick in on this replacement — why?

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell has not yet completed its handshake with the phone's charge IC. The phone falls back to standard 5V charging as a precaution. Complete one full charge to 100% at standard rate, disconnect, and reconnect — fast charge protocol resumes normally from the second cycle onward once the BMS signals a healthy cell state.

The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is something wrong?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a worn cell. The charge IC pushes current into a higher-resistance load, which generates more heat than you'd see on an aged battery. This is expected for the first two to three charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops with use. If the back of the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably — above roughly 45°C — disconnect and let it cool before continuing, then check that the charge IC is not still attempting fast-charge on an uncalibrated cell.
